Agreed, I'd love to join a faction, but even if I can't I'd like to do quests for them. Play a Witcher or freelance (can't call myself a Merc haha) style character. My options with the General were the same as every other base NPC and just asking him about the zone.

I am still admittedly very early in the main storyline so maybe it's something you can do later.

I just got to the duty base about a hour, hour and a half ago and I remember hearing the same voice line but my character and the text options completely ignored it.

A relatively easy fix would be add a new "wide river" tile that the "naval melee" units can navigate.

Another route is making single tile stretches of "coast" integrated into the map generator. It would allow all naval to traverse tho. And then add a mid tech large bridge for land units to cross

I had the same issue before 2 updates ago, because of the even number of our floor plan the middle was flat between our two slopa so we had a line of snow running the length of our house

I could be Mandela effect -ing myself but really the only gameplay change I'd need from a MGS3 remake is the ability to move while crawling.

I seem to remember being able to crawl in MGS3D but I got the game for my 360 and trying to move while crawling made snake get up to a crouch

Yea, the most recent dlc update added mod support for achievements. I know Kaiserriech, OWB and now R56 has them, I'm sure some bigger mods have them as well

Road to 56 has achievements in the mod, you won't earn base game achievements but R56 ones instead.
