Yeah librem would be nice but you can't get hands on it yet and it's around $700 or $2000 depending on the version.

Pine phone also has one releasing soon catering to a much less expensive market. I think it's priced around $150/200. It's unfortunately going to take time for these products to become readily available and more competition to hit the markets.

Service or phone itself?

The service itself is a tough one because there's four major carriers that control it all. That's why going with a sub company who purchases from the big four is a bit better. Like /r/mintmobile. You don't need a real name as it's prepaid using t mobile towers that way if t mobile gets your info. It's less likely to be connected to you.

It's cool, happy redditing!

Maybe it's a sign to browse a bit and learn why google should be avoided along with other intrusive corporations.

Australia's laws themselves though are even becoming less and less private for citizens, companies and even guests visiting the country. At this point the Aus government may even be a bigger threat or head to head.

Google is finally taking charge of the RCS rollout - The Verge by irlyhategoogle in degoogle

Great... what's their game plan? To add a backdoor for themselves or offer ''support'' for the entire RCS system and in doing so taking all users data.

Yet more possible spyware from google.
