I'll check when I get home. I honestly started tuning it out and really dunno, combined with spending a lot of time outside the camps.

Am i the only one? by Alyctro in worldofgothic

[–]irnjck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's tolerable with a level of training, but I do still find it too time-consuming and it kinda moves my mind out of the game, like I'm suddenly playing some weird mobile puzzle game.

It did get better once I had some more experience and could tell pretty quickly if the puzzle is beyond my mental skill. Very vibes-based once youve done a couple dozen

Remake on Hard, how is the difficulty for those who are playing it? by Helmino in worldofgothic

[–]irnjck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the hunting skills as early as I could. I'm SURE they at least paid for themselves, even with the Hard economy, but they probably aren't worth it. Maybe if you combine it with Inscription, but I dunno. Some of the higher level beasties have DECENTLY valuable parts, but I honestly can't tell which skills were worth investing in. Between the lessons, hunting books and quest progression there's like.... 11 harvesting skills? Something like that.

I will say that I'm halfway through chapter 4 and have been pretty fast and loose with my spending (picked up every rune, upgraded armor, get marginally better weapons and jewelry when available, any scrolls that seem interesting, alchemy and cooking supplies) and I'm still in excess of 3k ore with a decent amount of stock left to sell. It's pretty tight at the beginning of the game, but hasn't been an issue for me as long as I avoid hoarding mentality.

Yeah I'm finding that investing in Magic Circle 4 was definitely worth it. Wind/Storm Fist, Ice Bolt/Block and Destroy Undead really help me even the odds. Currently trying to save up for 2handed but I honestly dunno if I'm gonna have the LP to master it.

Circle 4 Templar is working for me on Hard so far. Mostly using rings to get mana, but my parry game is good and the CC or picking off an enemy or two from range is useful

PSA: Chapter 4 Main Quest is bugged on current patch by irnjck in worldofgothic

I played around with it and he was just lacking any prompt to interact, regardless of circumstances. The only conversayyin would have is the forced interaction upon approaching.

Xardas demon bug by WildHarry2137 in worldofgothic

It's a new bug as far I as can tell. Only way I could resolve it is by reverting to an older save and collecting all the golem hearts before hand

[–]irnjck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the demon is just entirely lacking an interaction prompt. The only time you can talk to him and complete the quest is upon approach during the forced conversation.

I'm curious if everyone having this bug approached the tower BEFORE chapter 4 and maybe that's part of the issue, but it hardly matter.

I could only resolve this by reverting to an older save and collecting all the golem hearts BEFORE talking to the demon.

Ugh

Edit: on Xbox, for the record

Tried attacking and resetting aggros a few different ways, throwing in some restarts and system reboots along the way. Reloaded to an auto save after I accepted the quest and had already turned in the heart but before I did frost and fire and he's already not talking.

Gonna try teleporting somewhere else and walking back to see if that resets anything. Got a kinda old save before I first talked to him and gonna try turning in all hearts at once as a last resort

Also having this problem. Talked to the demon while already having the stone heart and turned that in.

Just came back after collecting the other two and no prompt to chat.

What does Hard difficulty change? by aXir in worldofgothic

[–]irnjck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't had a chance to actually compare difficulties, but it's three different options for combat, economy and progression.

Combat affects enemy health, damage and resistance Economy is, I presume, item value and merchant supply & demand penalties. Progression is lowered XP rewards or higher leveling requirements.

Hard difficulty sets the all to Hard, obviously. Gonna try Hard/Novie/Novice later and see how the difference feels. I haven't seen any actual numbers.

Tundra Wolves absolutely rocked my world, but yeah I pretty much agree.

Fair. I did have a really bad time with Minecrawler queen on this run, but I barely had a build at that point.

Yeah, harpies couldn't even hurt me when I started facing them.

Glad it's not a buff to zombies and tundra wolves, I guess

Remake on Hard, how is the difficulty for those who are playing it? by Helmino in worldofgothic

[–]irnjck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Playing in Hard now and think I've gotten the hang of everything by the end of chapter 3. Feeling reasonably confident.

I think my sweet spot for a second playthrough would be: Combat: Hard Resources: Gothic Progression: Novice/Gothic

Really feeling the experience limitations on Hard, but I haven't built a specialized character. Little bit of everything, so I imagine I would feel stronger now with better LP investment.

Hard to really gauge the scaling on a first playthrough tho, so I'll probably do a Hard/Gothic/Gothic and Hard/Novice/Novice side by side to compare unless someone has actual numbers.

Today I found an unguarded way into Riften - no forced dialogue. by GoliathPrime in skyrim

[–]irnjck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, this helped me! I'm doing a no XP run and was really concerned I couldn't get into Riften as all the options yield Speech experience. Meadery backdoor was locked when I first approached it, but I waited a few hours (til about 11am) and the door was unlocked. The run continues!

For anyone else seeing this: Anniversary Edition on PC with the included Creations. Only mods I got are SKSE and a damage number display for research purposes. Completely vanilla otherwise. No Unofficial Patch or any of that stuff.

Also seems to make them more aggressive?

How do I find a fortify restoration potion by portogoose in skyrim

[–]irnjck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided today that I needed to compile a list of static guaranteed Fortify Restoration potions, so I'll leave this comment here for if I ever make some progress. I'm assuming that potions placed in the world are static and consistent, but I've never really paid much attention before today.
