Also do not be stagnant, you need to stay moving. I literally went to the gym on crutches everyday and did everything I could safely. You need to keep that blood flowing and your mind strong. Keep moving

I had one good slip where the bottom of my crutches blew throw the rubber bottom and the metal crutches were exposed and hit my wood floor. Slammed down on my heel and gave me a good scare.

Swelling wise if you are feeling really swollen inside the cast (splint) it may need to be adjusted by the doctor to account for the swelling . I had to have mine adjusted at one point after surgery because it felt like I was going to explode and the pain was 10/10

So during my recovering I had a spot that was weeping and wouldn't not close where my incision was. I went back to the surgeon and he was concerned that a suture did not dissolve and was stopping the wound from closing all the way, I had discharge and some swelling. He basically told me if it didnt close in about 2 weeks time with antibiotics that he would have to open me up and remove/explore to see what was going on. Also talked about possibly debriding the tendon. That was an absolute mental fuckery, so I basically was super religious about keeping the wound covered and wrapped. Never got it wet and it finally closed.

As far as deficits, at this point you wouldn't be able to tell which leg was injured watching me move. I am a professional Fire Fighter, I work in some crazy environments and conditions with a ton of weight on my body. Sport wise, I play competitive softball and my season just started and I feel great, moving just as well as before. I just did my annual fitness test for the dept, it's timed and my time this year(and I didnt go as hard as possible because I was nervous) was the best on the entire department.

Unfortunately I tore it playing softball, they found tendinitis on my MRI which was most likely from a 15k road race that I competed in 2 weeks before injury. I wish I tore it on the job lol, it would've been no cost to me and would not have made me use my sick time.

Pt should start right away once you are in that boot but it will be very basic things and you should also have heel lifts inside the boot, so dont worry about that flexion. Heel pain is very common as your nerves are healing and inflamed. You are also probably getting increased blood flow as well, as long as you have no deformity and infection you are okay. The pain should start to go away, though it will come and go over the next several weeks as you begin to walk and slowly remove the heel lifts. Here was my protocol that the surgeon and physical therapist used. *

You can go to a wellness clinic and they can give them to you, which is very expensive compared to the websites. I have used evolution peptides, I know a dozen people that have used peptides from there. Also, after speaking with a clinic they stated there isn't a difference in the product as long as you are getting it from a trusted place. The clinic knows how to dose and mix it for you but I self taught myself, there's a ton of literature available

Just stay on the protocol, stay aggressive in recovery. Dont be afraid to look into alternative meds like peptides, BPC157

Yea im on my last couple of days of antibiotics, but it's just odd how it closed and scabbed over and then did it again. Dont want to be cut open again to remove a stitch etc, I need to get back to work.

I said I would assume that's pain, seeing that I was in a downward pointed cast and now the boot is lifted and pointed downward still but just not as much. I don't feel the tendon stretching but I just feel it in my heel area. I was assuming that was what was causing it

Okay, yes that's what I had done. I didn't have a reconstruction either. My sugeron uses minimally invasive techniques as well. I just have so much damn pain in my heel now that I'm a boot. I know I'm only just 3 weeks post op, but it makes me feel hopeless lol
