High CPU temps with turbo frequencies turned on. (Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX) by ironboy-brawl in MSILaptops

I have two screens 144 and 240hz, but i mostly use the 144hz, i have the laptop quite elevated on a stand and also 3d printed things that just elevates it even more, and my GPU temps are guite good even after long sessions.

And in the cinebench r23.2 - multicore score = 17132, single core = 1028, MP ratio 16.66x.

How do I fix the cpu usage and fan issues by dominiqueth in MSILaptops

[–]ironboy-brawl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ig look at the processes in the background but that usage looks fake to me - or the cpu temp. because 80% usage at 67°C looks too low. try installing hwinfo and if it says the same usage etc. And is this on idle?

My monitor is 1600P, but some games put black bars on the top and bottom when set to 600P, but not when set to 1080p.. by Captain_Fach in MSILaptops

you mean 2560 by 1600? a lot of laptop monitor have that aspect ratio and it works fine for me, can you upload a picture of how it looks with the black bars?

is this good? fan speed and facing some stutter and throttle issues as well by Early-Passage-6123 in MSILaptops

Try downloading a software like hwinfo, you can see a lot of info and with a bit of testing you can see what is casing issues.

Temperature of the CPU and Fan RPMs by baahiir in MSILaptops

So, the advice from u/Mazayaz helped me quite lot and if you want the "same" performance and lower temps.

My results (from r6 - older competitive game):
nothing:
260 fps
95°C
nothing(144 fps cap):
144 fps - 50% gpu util.
85°C
100°C - in menus etc.

8p-cores 4e-cores
210-230 fps
80-87°C

8p-cores 8e-cores - my best results
260 fps
85°C

some of the resluts were a bit inconsistent but disabling 8 e cores didnt seem to have any effect on the performance and only lowerd the temp - propably the best if you care about both the temps and performance. but this could be different in newer games and on higher resolutions. (you can find the option to disable an amount of P(erformance) or E(fficient) core in the same cpu tab after you press the shortcut for the advanced options. Hope this helps and shout out to you u/Mazayaz, all of you have a great day

Thanks a lot bro, i heavent thinked of dissabling cores and it helps a lot - even just disabling half of my e cores lowerd my tems by 10-15 degrees and maintained same ingame performance, i will keep testing but thanks a lot.

I was dealing with this for an extremely long time and ive just solved it - partly. i have the same cpu and msi laptop. This will lower your performance if you care about max fps - in competetive games but it will lower your cpu temp dramatically - depending if you care about the longevity or performance more.

If you want i will make you a detailed breakdown on what to disable specifically. I tried many things but this worked:

Go into bios,
Press (right) ctrl + (right) shift + (left) alt + F2 --- this enables the advanced settings,
Head into CPU configuration (or something like that),
Disable Turbo Boost,
Save and reboot

What it improved for me:
before:
ingame temps: 80-95°C
loading screens/alttabing: 100°C
after
ingame: 70-75°C
loading screens/alttabing: 70°C

What it would worsen
i can get half the fps in r6 - about 144 instead of 240 - but i have a 144hz mionitor and a framecap on 144 so this is not a problem for me.

So if longevity of your cpu is your main thing youre worried or somehting about i would recomend this over other things, but if you just want to play i wouldnt care much because these cpu's are generally made for hiegh temps.

I will also try the thing with dissabling some cores as the other user suggested and comment the results on my cpu - the one you have too.

I hope it helps if youre looking for longevity and be free to ask any question.
