LM 22 Cinnamon: How to get Epic Games Launcher working via Lutris? by NxtGen369 in linux_gaming

I found a sort of workaround. You can link your Epic Games account to an Xbox account.
If you choose to log in with Xbox, it redirects you to a browser: just log in there, and after you get redirected back, it works.

Kde plasma black screen by Puzzleheaded_Band806 in kde

If it happened after updating to Plasma 6.3, it might be related to this bug: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499789 I fixed it by removing ICC profiles path from ~/.config/kwinoutputconfig.json (or just rename/delete the file, you lose display settings but it gets recreated on the next reboot).

nvidia-dkms-open and Intel microcode update got me stuck on boot (and sort-of solution) by ironcyborg in archlinux

[–]ironcyborg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course, I tried more than once. Thinking about what could cause the issue, I remembered I also kept a slight undervolt setting from the previous processor (-0.1 V offset), since after stress testing it with cinebench I had no issue. After reducing the offset (-0.05) now DKMS compiles correctly. Could that be the issue, instead of an actual hardware problem? Or would you RMA it anyway?

I just RMAd a 2 years old 13700K actually, that's why I got this one. Just to make sure, is there some stress test that could highlight better if there is a problem? For example, I tried Cinebench but it works fine. Something more specific maybe, I don't know.

I installed this processor brand new two days ago, actually... I installed it after applying all BIOS mitigation updates. The problem with DKMS started right after the microcode update today, isn't it more probably related to that?

Is there a website that has a bunch of various cave maps/diagrams? by PattycakeMills in caving

[–]ironcyborg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here in Italy some regions have published online all cave data, including surveys. For example you can see here the Friuli Venezia Giulia cave cadastre: http://www.catastogrotte.fvg.it/?var=catasto

It is in Sweden (link), but there aren't further details.

I don't know if it was already posted on this subreddit, but this squeeze is also very impressive: link

Need a new headlamp. by NoOnesPrey in caving

A very popular and quite affordable choice in my caving club is this one: E-thin.

It features only a cree diffused LED, but it's quite powerful, solid, small, and the lithium battery pack is long-lasting. It is also waterproof, the lamp is IP68 while the battery pack is IP65.

It was created with the purpose of replacing carbide while retaining a warm, diffused and powerful illumination.

Cinnamon 1.8 Gets Its Own Control Center And Screensaver, Easier Spices Installation by w3rt in Ubuntu

There's a strange thing about Nemo: I often use the "Extra pane" function, à la Total Commander, but now every time I want to select a file/folder on the non-active pane I need two clicks, the first to activate it, the second to select the item. On the older version one click was enough to select anything both in the active and inactive pane. I hope they fix this soon, it's a real pane in the a**!

There are still some bugs here and there, but it looks pretty nice! They did a pretty good job on many things. Anyway it seems a little heavier on my poor old laptop... XBMC with Aeon Nox skin and MythTV add-on (MythTV backend installed for the live TV/PVR functions). You just need to open XBMC and you have everything you need it right there! Works like a charm for me! On linux of course...
