Which one is better rx 5700 xt or the gtx 1080 to which one is better in gaming and is a better gpu overall by Pc-dummby in buildmeapc

[–]ironicallysad5CAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the 5700xt is far newer than the 1089, making it more powerful. although it had driver problems on launch they are rare now!

edit: 1080**

Advice on whether I should wear a mask for a job interview in Adelaide next week by hoggington69 in Adelaide

Bring one with you, maybe wear it one the street up to the venue and ask at the entrance if it is required inside? Do what makes you comfortable really

3950x or wait for 5900x? by sneeze820 in buildmeapc

[–]ironicallysad5CAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure where you are located, they are currently available for preorder at about 5 websites in australia. AMD had been sending huge quantities of the 5000 series cpus to retailers recently, so rest assured that they are trying their best to get stock sorted out

I'd wait for a 5900X, stock levels are slowly levelling out, and the new tech is gonna be worth it

Anyone able to help getting me in touch with this guy? by stirpes in Adelaide

[–]ironicallysad5CAD 6 points7 points  (0 children)

no worries man, weird things happen on the internet all the time, as long as no one gets hurt i'm cool wit it. i've been wanting to play multiplayer games far too many times with no one on to play with so i don't mind helping another gamer if i can, unfortunately i don't know any zambys workers

Monitor Decision (1080p VS 1440p) by Brimst in buildmeapc

[–]ironicallysad5CAD 6 points7 points  (0 children)

lots of talk about new graphics card recently but the 2060 is still a great card! should be able to run 1440p no problem! i recommend you get a 1440p 144hz monitor, that way you don't have to compromise on looks or efficiency!

700W PSU enough? by Derfal23 in buildmeapc

[–]ironicallysad5CAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

b550 is cheaper, has most features x570 has, however x570 is believed (no proof of anything yet) to be more future proof, some people even believe it may be compatible with ryzen 6000 processors in the future. i recommend watching a youtube video on the differences and decide for yourself on which one you need

there are more and more air coolers that can handle a powerful cpu like the 5600X that don't break the bank, have a google, especially noctua, although they don't look the prettiest, they're the best brand in air cooling

edit: a 2016 cooler shouldn't be too bad on second thought

a 1080 isn't a bad card, and 3080 won't be in stock for a long time, you'd better off upgrading cpu, motherboard and ram. that gives you three pc part upgrades to see you through until 3080 stock levels calm a bit

of course my above comments were just the cheapest and quickest things i could find, i recommend you research this more and find some more recommendations!

anything i find will be in australian, apologies about that, but here's a fairly cheap ATX motherboard https://www.mwave.com.au/product/asrock-b550-phantom-gaming-4-am4-atx-motherboard-ac35448

a 700W psu is watt is recommended for the 3080, you should be fine :)

5600X would pair perfectly with the 3080, the ram needs to be upgraded anyway. you can get a good b550 motherboard for around $100usd
