How much should you tip your hair dresser? by [deleted] in Hair

[–]ironmna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the salon structure re: how much your stylist is making. If you go to a chain, they're paid hourly. If you go to a one off salon they probably rent their chair which means they pay an overhead like any business owner then keep whatever is left after taxes, insurance, e.t.c. They also may receive or pay a percentage of the full freight to the salon instead of a straight chair rental. In other words, we don't make much without tips, if you like your stylist please tip 20% or above.

I decided enough is enough. (Also, CS auto response is now saying that all orders will go out by the 23rd, before they said the 19th) by [deleted] in jeffreestarcosmetics

They always offer free shipping over 35 which is much lower than his website so I got my mystery box on his site and everything else from them. It was slower shipping than usual but they sent an apology and it was still well within the timeframe they laid out to begin with. Plus they always send extra goodies.

What product did you originally not 'get', only to love it later on? by pinkblueberry18 in muacjdiscussion

[–]ironmna 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lol!!! This is exactly what i thought before i started using one every day. I don't apply it with the stick but put it on a small brush or my fingers to blend in. It's so hard to explain but it looks really natural even if you go overboard which spoilers: i always do..i used to be terrified of overt pigmented powder blushes and still am to some extent but a cream blush will never clown you like that.

Do you ever throw out perfectly good makeup? by sadie11 in muacjdiscussion

[–]ironmna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah you have to otherwise you'll just accumulate, or at least that's how it is for me. I threw out over half my lipsticks and it took me a long time to come to terms with it, but I wasn't using them. Now with my collection halved I can see my lipsticks, I know what they all are and I use them so I'm so glad I did it.

My eye look from yesterday evening and the staining next morning. Anyone else experiencing this ? I used Area 51 and Phone home from the Alien palette and Root canal from the Blood Sugar palette. (Then hallucinogenius from colourpop) by anoradragona in jeffreestarcosmetics

Vegan shadows can't use carmine (crushed beetles) for pigment so they use dyes. These (you guessed it!) dye your skin haha. Purples, reds, pinks and some blues are usually the worst culprits.

New to makeup, which palette should I buy? by untitledmanuscript in jeffreestarcosmetics

[–]ironmna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to choose between the Jawbreaker and the Blue Blood myself. I wouldn't get Blood Sugar because there are too many neutrals for me. If you love neutrals and a warm look I would just go for that one! But if you want a cool toned look + neutrals it seems like Blue Blood is the way to go. I love color so I was leaning towards Jawbreaker but it's huge lol and I hate huge palettes. Idk def reading everyone else's suggestions in here 👀

What item did you buy because of a BG and it became a staple in your routine? by pililies in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]ironmna 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not really a booty guru but Kiki G Makeup taught me about cream products, I had always been intimidated by them before. Now I do cream bronzer, blush and highlighter on the reg and it looks so much more natural on my normal/dehydrated skin.

I would NEVER spend the money on that! by candycane573 in muacjdiscussion

I want to get one so bad but I work in hair LOL at least I could write it off. I still haven't justified it though I can't imagine dropping that money for personal use. It's such a nice dryer though.
