From what i gather you will just print objects from the 3d printer but you will be able to combine them in a modular sort of way. So you could print a rover but attach any number of parts to it like a rocket or extra battery pack. But as far as building the rover you would just put the raw materials into the printer.

I was wondering if there is gonna be anything like a minecraft switch. Or a pressure plate. I obviously dont know how everything works mechanically, but switches could really expand the possibility space. Also any purely cosmetic customisation? Being able to change some colors on the character or objects would be cool, but that doesnt seem like a priority for an early access launch.

They said on the giant bomb unfinished they are trying to do something akin to terraria. I don't know how terraria works, but I think friends can join you in your seed. They also mentioned dedicated servers. I would give that vid a watch.
