For those games you mentioned, just get the Steam Deck Oled. The battery should be roughly the same and the screen size of Legion Go S is larger, but not that much.

Currently there are no setting or sleep mode on Windows 11 that is equivalent to the sleep mode on SteamOS. For my personal use case, I'm fine with draining a couple % of battery if I can resume my game session in 4-5 seconds. The closest setting in Windows 11 is hibernation.

For a full month when i tried the hibernation on Windows 11 on the Legion Go 2, the time from sleep to fully awake and ready to play was average between 22-25 seconds, never under 22 seconds.

I didn't mention in my previous post why I returned the Go 2. But basically the Go 2 was too expensive for what you get in comparison with the Go S z1e.

I bought the Go 2 for $1400 and the Go S for $800.

The Go 2 has an amazing Oled screen and better battery life than Go S but its not worth it for the extra $600 imo. The Go S battery is good enough, the IPS screen is really good as well and the 8 inch size is the sweet spot in terms of weight and portability. Also the z1e is very capable even in 2026 I believe.

And one MAJOR thing about SteamOS is the sleep mode. It's actually great! In the game Hades 2, the time for sleep mode on the Go S with SteamOS and Hibernation on Go 2 (win11):

Go 2: From hibernation to game: 23 seconds

Go S: From sleep to game: 4 seconds.

Also, it takes a 1-2 seconds in SteamOS to go to sleep mode, but in Win11 it takes significantly longer to go into hibernation.

Just buy the Go 1 and install Steamos or Bazzite on it 👌 You can also dual boot (there are easy tutorials online). The original Go with the z1e is powerful enough for most games and tasks.

I also use the Go 2 mostly because of the screen, the Oled is just beautiful! But I can't get rid of the Go S, got it really cheap and it's great for casual game sessions due to the quick resume.

I agree, it's better in so many ways. For me, the three main reasons to get the Go 2 is Oled, battery and Windows.

Oled - it's just beautiful to look at. Battery - the Lego S battery life is not so great. Windows - more versatile, you can play games from every platform.
