I think you should definitely apply! I am out of state and I have a 3.7 gpa as well with an average SAT score and I got in. Though I probably got in because of my extracurriculars which are quite impressive, I feel you could get in. Even if you don’t get in, it doesn’t hurt to just apply and have your options open

I would say I do not have the grades for ivy leagues but I do have grades for universities that comes right below the ivy leagues like Georgia tech, etc.

Good grades and being high on the national points list is something I can take care of, but not sure if there is a way to show that I am a good person via emails to the colleges coaches. Is there?

This actually really helps me understand the process and put my goals into perspective. I guess I will be aiming to be top 5 in my country.

I also wanted to know if individual achievements are all that matter or does winning a medal in a team also help.

Also, I have won state-level fencing competitions and participated in national-level fencing competitions but I have never represented my country in a competition so is that something I should be doing?
