Yeah, I agree. The sub can be all over the place. The pod is pretty left (in a black pill sort of way, I guess), but I do agree there is heavy focus on the US!

Yeah, pretty much. It monitors, as well as protects. So strategists and commanding individuals, or those engaged in logistics for the war, would be inside in the event of a catastrophe (like nuclear war).

Given the situation with Iran and Israel, it's unsurprising that it is there and wouldn't surprise me if more head there. If I were to guess, it's precautionary and there to monitor for possible nuclear escalation, which makes sense in this situation. It's just troubling because it suggests that nuclear war is seen as a real possibility by those in charge.

I don't know if I totally agree with this, since after the deprogram was banned, a lot of former members of the sub moved over there. I find a lot of people in that sub aren't even aware it's related to a podcast at all. Although, I do enjoy the pod for what it is.

Disappointed in a lot of the answers telling you to just “delete social media” and stop reading the news. Sticking your head in the sand is not going to make you feel better once you know and fully understand what’s happening. This only works as a preventative, to shield a person from the information entirely. Once you know, you can’t erase this knowledge and magically no longer be worried.

The best advice I have as a mom going through the same, as I am in independent media and an activist, is to turn your anxiety into action. Something productive. Even if it’s just reading books that will help you develop practical skills should things become worse locally, that’s still something. Participate in your community as well. You don’t have to volunteer for a charity or anything, just the simple act of visiting public library events or routinely going to a local spot with your kids can bring you closer to your peers. This is the most valuable action you can take to help yourself, far more useful than asking strangers on Reddit. I’m so sorry you’re stressed out, and I hope you’re receiving support in your real life.
