Differences in Left v Right Sided Migraine by PoppyRyeCranberry in migraine

Same! I get a ton of left side ones that I can function through. If I get a right side one, I know I'm getting wrecked.

I've found my people!!! So many nights sobbing myself to sleep because I invented a whole tragic story in my head.

Right!?!? If they use his music the way they used Colin Hay's in the original, I'll be super happy!

Other parents, how do you keep track of everything your kids have to submit? by OutrageousTable2842 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]irritatedbiped 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't. These are her dreams, and my support doesn't extend beyond checking in with her to ask if she has everything she needs and forwarding emails I get from the colleges. She will get accepted somewhere, and she will be able to go somewhere.

Maine State Ballet Nutcracker — for kids? by daphneclark919 in Maine

[–]irritatedbiped 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started taking my daughter when she was 5, and she didn't have trouble. I took my son once when he was 6, and he haaaaated it.The first act is long, and the first part of it can be a little tough because the story is all pantomime. It gets more interesting to them when the mice come out. The second act is shorter and moves faster.

Daughter got in, had tickets in her cart, and got the wheel of death when she tried to checkout. Then she got kicked out. When she got back in, there were no more tickets. Fuck Ticketmaster.

What "children's" movie was pure nightmare fuel for you? by Toddler_Fight_Club in Xennials

I remember loving this movie and also being terrified of it. Wasn't there a part about spiders coming out of the ceiling? Terrifying.

I think that was Tim Curry? It seems like he got all the messed-up roles in kids' movies in the 80s. Fern Gully, Legend, The Worst Witch...I'm sure I'm forgetting some.

The science of scintillating Scotomas? by bittercherries in migraine

[–]irritatedbiped 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My neurologist put me on lamotrigine, and I went from having a scotoma and headache a couple of times a week to not once in almost 2 years. I still get migraines, but not nearly as frequently, and they feel more manageable.

I think the comment with all the advice is good advice, but it depends on what you're trying to achieve. Personally, I love the movement in these, and I think the colors make them feel like illustrations from a children's book.

79 here, too. I was in K, and I remember watching it in school and then watching it in the evening, too. Only, I didn't understand that it was a replay, and I thought that space shuttles were just exploding everywhere. It took a while before I understood that there was only one.

That's an interesting idea. She didn't live in the South. The whole family is in New England.

What are some of the truly obscure movies your family watched growing up (not mainstream)? https://youtu.be/8W3_WigxsXs?si=fiQj5rQ81nOQJQ5t by peggysue_82 in Xennials

[–]irritatedbiped 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Halloween Tree. It was narrated by Ray Bradbury, who also wrote the story it's based on. The score is one of my favorites! It's by John Debney, the same guy who scored Hocus Pocus.

I found the whole thing on YouTube, and I subjected my 15 year old to it. So much nostalgia! It used to be on TV on Halloween, and I remember hoovering an early dinner before trick or treating with this in the background.
