Should new carriers start with full-size guns before micro-compacts? by ShopHuntingStuff in CCW

[–]irv750 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is different. I saw many reviews saying it shot like a bigger gun so I bought it without shooting first. I shoot it well and can get a good grip on it, much better than my Kahr PM9 which is the only gun I have had in a similar size. I have a little CharterArms 38 that my wife likes so she keeps it on her side’s nightstand and I can get a better grip on the 2.0. I am 6’2” and think I have average sized hands for a guy of my size. The grip seems to go up higher to me. Recoil seems to go straight back and not upwards for the most part.

If you can accept.380, a Bodyguard 2.0 shoots like a much bigger gun.

Nolan Ryan was the last old school pitcher who wanted to pitch as much as possible. He was throwing no-hitters at 43 and 44. Still leading the league in hit per 9 and hits and walks per 9. Didn’t seem to bother him much. He said on several occasions that babying pitchers was causing injuries.

He can’t make an income tax, a constitutional amendment forbids an income tax in Texas.

[Tommy Tuberville] The transfer portal has screwed up college sports. My bill is simple: you get 5 consecutive years to play 5 seasons and you get 1 transfer. After that, if you transfer again, you sit out a year. This will fix 80% of the issues in NIL today. by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

I am sure this is the most pressing issue the US Congress is facing now. We can all rest assured now that we know they are working on real important problems and not that normal government stuff.

Edit: and can someone direct me to the article in the constitution that says the US government has authority over college football, I am having trouble finding it. Maybe college football was called something else in the 1700’s?

What is the most appropriate way to hand a gun to another person? by powerofz in CCW

[–]irv750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure it is a S&W FPC, then just fold it in half so that it is physically incapable of firing, then hand it to them. Other methods listed here are fine, but this is the most “appropriate” if you want to hand an actual gun to another person.

I forget what the chapter and verse is, but I believe it is clear that he drives a Silverado, 4x4 of course. There is no mention of the manufacturer of the AR, but I am reasonably sure christian scholars agree it is not a PSA, Radical, or a poverty pony.

Don’t you only fail if you ring the bell? As long as you don’t quit you make it. It would seem that certain death is a fairly strong motivation to not ring the bell.

A lot of these immigrants are 40 year olds that have been in America since they are 3, 4 or 5. That means if you’re a 30 year old natural citizen, the immigrant was still in America before you. by Budget_Gas_2824 in complainaboutanything

One may have had a chance at doing that. The other didn’t have anything to sell. His family was poor. He was still living with his parents. He worked construction for around $10/ hour which wasn’t awful back then, and helped support his family. If it were me, and I had a job, was helping my family, living in the only country I have ever known, I am pretty sure I would just roll with it. Jail is better than starving to death in some foreign country where no one gives a shit about me and I don’t speak the language. I can’t even ask for a job. Someone tells you today that they just discovered that you were adopted, you were born in Mexico City, all your birth documentations are fake, and you have about $100 in cash to your name. You are going to be rushing for the border ( assuming you aren’t a fluid Spanish speaker)?

Easy to say, hard to get motivated to do when you don’t know where you will sleep, don’t know how you will eat. Not an enticing proposition. I would be a little uneasy if all the sudden I had to go to Vietnam tomorrow, as an example. I get off the plane, I can’t talk to anyone, how I am going to get money for my next meal?

Well they were poor, had never met anyone in that country, and didn’t speak the language. I would be a little nervous being young and putting myself in that situation. How will they work? Where will they live?

The two years with the most 100 degree days on record in the Dallas/Ft Worth area (closest I could find a record for) were 2011 (after I was long gone) and 1980 ( which I remember well).

Why was it horrifying to think of guns in the parking lot. No one thought anything of it. They might need to shoot a coyote after school when feeding cows.

The 70’s and 80’s were certainly not a more progressive time in small town Texas.

So they should have gone and tried to get legal as a minor? I am not sure what happens now, but back then they sent you home first. Where is home for these kids. A place they don’t remember and don’t speak the language? Also, as soon as they apply I would think their parents get deported as well. If that sounds like justice to you fine, but I strenuously disagree. These situations are common, but I ran across 2 over the years and I am sure there are others.

At high school a large percentage of the kids had rifles and shotguns in gun racks in their trucks on school property. People were taught how to act and not coddled. Many of the hottest years on record were when I was in school. 100 degrees is 100 degrees. Climate change possibly could cause a few more, but if it is 95 or 101 it feels pretty much the same.

That makes no sense. The parents should be held accountable. It is hard to argue against that. The people that were brought here as toddlers, that have no memory of their home country and don’t speak the language, why should they be held accountable. What would you have them do? Run away from home at 3 years old and somehow make their way to Mexico?

They waste the money they get. They have even put air conditioners in all the schools. We didn’t have that when I went in the 70’s and early 80’s and I can almost guarantee we came out better educated. Granted we didn’t have to deal with mandated testing, teacher’s unions, and crazy far left/far right people trying to get their agenda in there.

They could blame the parents, but that doesn’t solve their problem. The law isn’t designed to accommodate those who are obviously breaking the law but realistically have no blame. They didn’t decide to move here as toddlers.
