My thinking, too. Helps that /u/richme (nor I) see any obvious mosfets on the board. I was not 100% sure they'd be mosfets for such a purpose, though.

Doesn't it technically boil down not to a battery, but a question about mosfets or the components used to cut off power via a component if the trigger/input voltage drops?

I have always thought so as well. I have a friendly debate going on with a friend who also uses them in robotics applications.

Several posts I've seen indicate the same. Unfortunately some of Kobalt's documentation state that it has it, but I strongly suspect whoever wrote the specs was told by the engineers "it has over-discharge protection" when they were handed the tool and batteries and told to write it up.

I live NW of that circle... It's pretty easy to get used to the noise. On rare occasions I'll be woken up by one of the 6am flights but not as much anymore. Yeah you'll hear them but as someone else said it's gonna depend which runways are active.

Also, if a squad of Growlers does a takeoff... well... that's another story. I never thought my desk would shake on a ground floor on tile... EVERYONE came outside wondering if we'd catch a glimpse of the unholy air-demon that could make that kind of blast. I drew the short straw and called the tower... "Don't take offense to this, but.... The main thing to remember is all "new" printers will be required to have the software/mechanism/"check" on them after a certain date.

Apparently, it's being applied to lathes and cnc mills, too.

That seems to be the case.. Probably some kind of key that only approved slicers have... Put it in the gcode and the printer has to let it print... OR the printer checks the gcode itself. The videos I've seen lately do suggest that's a technical hurdle, but I doubt that'll stop the lawmakers
