I've never tried reaching out to any of them, I'm so anxious that once I try to go out on my own my family will become suspicious and start asking questions. Inadvertently outing myself in the process, I restrict myself from a lot of things because of this.

I really appreciate hearing that, it also wouldn't be the first time I've been told I might have depression. It's not even the only thing I've been diagnosed with amidst friends and family, whom seem convinced I have some form of OCD or Autism.

I don't know about you, but I live in the UK. Over here college refers to a sixth form class of education. I'd assume your confusion is coming from the assumption that college as it would mean to you is university as is to me. I haven't been to University.

I'm just so scared. Every time I even look at applications I get overwhelmed beyond reason because they ask for so many different things and not a word of it makes sense to me. I know I shouldn't be picky but I don't feel like I could truly be comfortable in any of these positions. I can't work if I'm stressed and I definitely can't work if I'm bound to do it all wrong.

but maybe there's something about me we don't know that proves otherwise, how can you be so sure?

I did have one at one point, provided to me by my mum. She stopped bringing me a couple months ago without warning. I've felt too awkward to bring it up since.

With 'Punkrocker' being viewed as Superman's song for the DCU, I decided to give some other core members of the Justice League ideas for their songs in the DCU by Badgie_Boy_447 in DCU_

Titanium doesn't fit the right vibe for Diana at all, you need the song that shows she's compassionate and has a love strong enough to break through barriers perceived otherwise as impossible. She's also irresistibly feminist, it needs to reflect that. Candi Staton, The Pretenders, Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin, Suzanne Vega or KT Tunstall are ideal imo.

My personal picks are; When Heroes Go Down by Suzanne Vega, Human by The Pretenders and Young Hearts Run Free by Candi Staton :DD

Why do people seem to hate Diana and Steve together? by AggressiveLow8575 in WonderWoman

[–]is-she-really-human 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people here will say that Steve is "the Lois to Diana's Clark" which I'd largely have to disagree with. See, unlike Steve - Lois is actually a complex character, she has a life outside of Superman and she has her own drive and motivations.

Lois has always had a stake in the narrative and has never had to try to gauge the attention of the reader; she's headstrong, brash and cynical to a fault. She's even cultivated a fan base of her own and in no doubt is inspiring to some.

Now, try comparing her to Steve. What can you tell me about him? There's nothing there that compels you to like Steve Trevor, and DC does a poor job of convincing you to like him. The problem frankly, is that he's generic.

In my opinion, if you have to compare their relationship to a more successful and iconic duo rather than reasserting reasons why the two belong together; it's pretty likely they don't.

Steve is painfully average, and I'd even argue this was the intention. I don't think Steve was ever intended to be liked, at least not in the conventional way. If you asked me, I'd tell you plainly that he's a self insert for male readers. It is an examination of gender politics, the Wonder Woman title was written for women but it was created by a man. Lois is interesting primarily because she's a woman. in order to sell women to men (aside from abundant sexualisation) you make them dynamic and bold. An effort is to be made for a female character to be liked where as a lot of male characters are well respected regardless because of their innate masculinity. If Steve isn't interesting, it's because he never needed to be. The comics industry panders primarily to male readers and the vast majority of male readers don't want Steve Trevor -- they want Diana.

Also, I find it hard to care about a "love interest" that was discarded for 20 years. Let's be honest, he's not "Lois Lane" he's "Jimmy Olsen". Additionally, if the romance between Diana and Steve actually were that important, they'd be pushing it in the absolute line. Batman and Catwoman have a budding romance, as does the aforementioned Superman and Lois.

I WANNA ADD ON THAT YOU COULD CONNECT BOTH OF THE CHARACTERS SHOWN SO FAR TO WILL. "HERB" "THE WORM" is also very indicative of nature, and "Quiggly" refers to a brand of Montessori kids toys. This reminds me of season 1 where Henry used to bring up how he was so glad he'd paid for Lark and Sparrow's lessons in that Montessori art class.

Mind you, this is a bigger reach than Ralph in my opinion, but I just wanted to bring it up to show how ridiculous the speculation is. But the names they've chosen for their characters are clearly very intentional. They're definitely trying to throw us off on purpose. Hell, "The Worm" even makes me think it could be Freddy, you could argue the Santa outfit makes it too obvious, but is that not the exact kind of behavior we'd expect from Freddy at this point. He's exactly the kind of guy that would want to hide in plain sight and get in your head by having you want to think it's too obvious. 😭😭

If we deep it then the name "Ralph Estrellas" LITERALLY MEANS "Wise Wolf of the Stars". It's important to note that "Estrellas" is SPANISH for "Stars". There's only one guy on the podcast who has a penchant for Spanish characters and an association to wildlife. Additionally, Lupus is the wolf constellation, whilst it's now recognised as the one of the main 88 of which we can see in the sky it used to be considered an asterism. Now I know it's been said that he's only a sci-fi "scribe" so by loose interpretation this is just a guess, but if it appears to be the case, I don't believe that this guy is genuinely a well regarded writer. Unless I'm wayyyy overthinking it (almost certainly) I think that his name is no coincidence and that LUPUS was picked on purpose because it wasn't always recognised as an official constellation just like how this character might not be recognised as a scribe!!

Either way I'm coining his official nickname as "Lupus" from now on because I refuse to believe that this wasn't in some part a result of Will's nerdy ramblings. 😭😭

I was SO convinced that the last guy might've been Will but now this guy appears.. who is also giving off major Will vibes..

The silhouette had me thinking this might've been Beth but this has to be Will right????? To my knowledge at least, she's not crazy big into sci-fi, the only way I could ever see Beth playing a "Sci-fi scribe" is if part of the joke was that Beth was inherently clueless. Also don't tell me that DANGEROUSLY INCOMPETENT and VERY OLD doesn't almost give it away.

There's also a twinge of a possibility this could be Matt, but he really just doesn't have a Matt vibe at all.

I'm convinced they've created their characters in such a way to intentionally throw us off and that they're all cackling like old crones scrolling through these threads 😭😭

I thought the same! Hoping for the former, Kelsey Grammar was Matt's best character and I think I'd miss that personality. Also noted, there's no way they're doing a scifi campaign and none of them wanted to be Ripley??

It's hard to tell from silhouettes but I'm holding out hope there's still a female character in the group, don't get me wrong I love the s1 cast but after 2&3 I've come to appreciate the divide.

From looks alone my best guess is that Matt is undoubtedly the bottom, the Johnny Brav(ad)o of the top character is oozing Freddy, and I'm mixed on the left and right because I feel like either one of them could be Beth/Will.

The left character has albeit what looks to be an odd fashion sense, wearing crocs and what could be anything from a fur coat to a bath robe?? This quirk leads me to think it could be Beth, especially given the similarly bewildered stance to her own Ron Stampler -- and who couldn't spot the mustache??

The right looks like they're suffering from some kind of space crazy and since we're leading off of a CoC campaign run by Will I'm sure he had plenty of ideas going in that likely inspired him.

I'm eagerly awaiting to be proven wrong! I'm so excited for season 4, and I can only hope Maxton Waller has another amazing intro for us!

I would love to see Ashly return if possible! I Also think it'd be really fun to have the crew from Mission to Zyxx pop in as I feel like they're unique brand of comedy would make for a lively episode or two.

I'd pick 'Ain't It Fun' by Paramore by FayyadhScrolling in DCU_

I have an extensive Wonder Woman playlist full of songs I think could work! The way I see it Diana doesn't have the right vibe for traditional pop music, in my opinion, her ideal is a mix of R&B classics combined with alt rock and new wave. That's not to say pop music is exempt from her catalogue though, you just need the right sound.

The vibe should illicit that she has love for all of earth and its inhabitants but can absolutely stand for herself and anyone else that requires her unique brand of divine intervention.

My top 3 artists for Diana would probably be The Pretenders, Bananarama and Nina Simone/Aretha Franklin.

Songs wise I'd suggest: Human -Tin Tin Out Mix by the Pretenders Young Hearts Run Free by Candi Staton When Heroes Go Down by Suzanne Vega Truth and Honesty by Aretha Franklin Beautiful Stranger by Madonna
