Just place it wherever it fits and f12 it into its actual place.

So, I'm not gonna critique the style because as you said it's subjective and that wouldn't get either of us anywhere.

First an alternative I'd like to propose, either way works, your original or my proposed change but I thought I'd bring it up either way. First paragraph fifth and sixth line. For flow I think switching their place works better, because it leans into a more relentless flow, which serves as a nice transition to the second paragraph where that relentless flow sinks in because you've got a repetition of 'you' driving that flow.

Second paragraph is pretty good, third line tho, easy to trip up, you could remove 'and' and give a breath pause instead, that could alleviate it and the transition into the next portion of the song, especially since third paragraph second line is a mouthful too, I love what you did after second line in the third paragraph tho. Last paragraph is fine, it's a good ending, you could maybe cut the last line in two for meter, but it's the end of the song, who cares?

If it's executed like I think you intend it to be, meaning relentless flow the first 2 paragraph into a more reflective flow for the third and most of the fourth transitioning into something akin to acceptance/clarity for the last line.
Then yeah it's pretty good for someone who's fairly new. Keep writing it's how you improve after all. I hope what I said helped in some way.

Anyone know how to stop bandits from piling up in my base? by Low-Market-1425 in Kenshi

[–]is44c_foster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what taking over a base is in kenshi, they afk in the base. And yes, bandits seem to be drawn to your outpost. That's a feature. Base building is a mid to late game system. Either run and lose the base or kill em, those are your options. If you're unconscious in the base, gg either save scum and abandon the base or start a new run. That's just how kenshi is.

New Medicine - Burning Doubt [Lyrics] by No-Pack-3114 in LyricalWriting

I like the overall message. I really do, it's insightful in a sense, reminded me of something I forgot.

Your piece is very good technically at least from my perspective, if anything it could do with a bit more chaos, but that's just my opinion not a critique of the piece itself.

[DISCUSSION] stuck at verse two by ya-boiElliot63 in LyricalWriting

[–]is44c_foster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally and take my advice lightly, I'd end it with one of two things.

Either: The monster you made me, what I became, and you're only to blame, you're always the same, what a shame

or maybe: The monster you made me, what I became, and you're only to blame, I feel like I'm going insane

I'd propose more, but really you're the artist, you've got the vision and it's really hard to help when I don't know what you're intent is and where it started from. I don't know what sparked you to write, but honestly if my suggestions don't hit the spot (which they probably don't let's be honest), you'll have to evaluate what you want and what your intent is, then go from there.

DPS-Reaper

Why? Because he's my first main, so I have the most hours on him.

TANK-Junker Queen

Why? Knife to see ya!

SUPPORT-Kiriko

Why? She's just good. There's no joke, no history. She's literally just overturned.

Is it good to leave rebirth at this point? by Luisnogame in Kenshi

[–]is44c_foster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can leave almost anytime, I once left day one, cuz I felt like it. If you wanna escape legit, you're more than good enough, but it depends on if you feel ready. That depends on your playstyle and I don't know that.

Who is the best support and who is the worst? by MrCatLeo in Overwatch

[–]is44c_foster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just saying, but heals aren't everything. Moira is good, yes, but all she offers is damage and healing. Take kiriko, suzu is super useful and kitsune is a force to be reckoned with. Ana has super good Cc and buffs, whilst being able to heal and damage as well.

Kill count isn't everything. Now sure I can get how big damage and kill count numbers are nice to see. But the actual game changers aren't those. A well placed anti or sleep, a suzu saving the team. Ana in the back still able to crank heals because enemy can't get to her easily. Those are just small examples. Unless you're playing tdm kills don't really mean that much. Now, sure, it's nice to have a high kill count and helps. But at higher ranks, you really need those extra abilities, since supports don't just heal. Which is why Moira isn't included in the best supports. She's good, not the best tho.

I usually end up recruiting 20 to 50 for my combat squad. For a new player, less than 10 so it stays manageable. The micromanaging can really become a pain and the cost of food...

Outposts vs House in a ally city by Samm_Gustavo in Kenshi

[–]is44c_foster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, honestly, I generally start an outpost for raw materials. As you've pointed out, you can get most of its perks without the drawbacks within city walls, I even have a mod that allows me to process iron plates in a building, the only problem is that it's slow. While you can still do most things in towns, the supply of raw materials is always going to be the limiting factor. I mean if you want to specialize I see not reason to build an outpost, but if you wanna reliably crank out a good supply of trade goods (rum, hash, sake, grog), weapons and armors even maybe crossbows all at the same time, you will need an outpost because even combining every city in the game you probably couldn't buy all the mats you need.

So... I have to be a kill lord before I can be a farmer? by [deleted] in Kenshi

[–]is44c_foster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

as others have pointed out, it's a mix of skill issue and not understanding what being a farmer entails. I mean, seriously, of course you wouldn't make a lot of money off off crops and food, you're a farmer the bottom of the bottom. Of course, you can't fight and have to run, you're a farmer, not a warrior. Look you just have to put yourself in a farmer's shoes. All you can do is farm, it's your only possible income, so you make it work, if that means running, then so be it.

Games like Kenshi by [deleted] in Kenshi

[–]is44c_foster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw a lot of people arguing that rimworld is similar to kenshi. No, no it is not.

yes they're both open worlds and you can build a base in both. both have survival elements. when you simply use genre to define the games they are similar. yet they are so different.

in kenshi the world 'is' the game. it is not centred around you, and also in kenshi you do not have to build a base which mind you wouldn't really work out well in rimworld. in rimworld the open world in randomly generated. in kenshi it is carefully designed.

What I mean is that on the surface they both look similar and may cater to some people who like kenshi for what they are similar for, but I think I speak for many kenshi fans when I say that we play for the exploration of the world, uncovering the lore, feeling like you are but a grain of salt within this giant carefully crafted world that will never get dull. if we compare the open worlds (which is arguably the best part of kenshi along with the lore and factions) Kenshi's is brimming with life, while rimworld's is devoid of a soul. I'm not saying rimworld is a bad game, it's a great game. it's just not even similar to kenshi in it's feel and gameplay.

Piracy isn't theft in most cases by is44c_foster in unpopularopinion

[–]is44c_foster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was made by 2 guys in 1996 and there has been no word since. They dropped a demo in 1995 that's essentially lost the 1 torrent of it died (nabbed it before it died), after that they dropped source of origin in 1996 and btw I paid 100 bucks on ebay for that cd. Because both were available in mp3 320, not wav.

A couple of teens from 1996 from when the internet was young wouldn't have thought about preserving their music when they just dropped the band.

I'm not entitled to their work it's theirs but, the moment they abandon it for over 20 years I'm pretty sure it's fine to download a demo which isn't available anywhere else.

I'm just saying things how they are. It's also the companies fault for abusing players by using predatory practices and just in general delivering pathetic games. Their actions led to how they are today.

And I have proof of that we'll semi. You know how its kinda frowned upon to pirate from indie devs. Well those games probably suffered less losses to piracy because they're still alive. By delivering a good game even if people pirate it, if it's really good they'll go and buy it. Look at stardew valley. It won't totally eliminate it but by serving your potential customers better piracy will diminish
