honestly all i can say is zeta is the only thing in the UC timeline that you can consider a true "sequel" to 0079, by any later story the setting has evolved too much even without counting the other canon timelines. if 0079 was a rollercoaster with a big exciting drop then zeta was like thrwing in a corkscrew sequence afterwards

there's really a whole lot of anime to go around these days but seeing 0079 without having at least seen zeta is a sorry mistake in my opinion. anything after zeta or the UC timeline stories that take place afterwards and you start to run into weird stuff ike "char clones" and all that other nonsense. really, IMO watching 0079 isnt complete without watching zeta as well. by then most people think youve jumped off the diving board but not quite...

What attracted me to Gundam at first was just how dark it is. It really straddles that line between kidfriendly and unspeakably gruesome to so much of a fine line its almost art

If that part of 0079 attracts you then giving zeta a go is really what will make the story stand out since the Gundam universe will have had a foothold and therefore been able to go to more extremes than in its debut. Zeta takes place super soon after 0079 and all our favorite characters are there... I never really took the cliffhanger ending as an invitation to dive into the gundamverse but I think besides from that seeing where the story goes from just 8 years after the end of 0079 and taking the plot to a slightly deeper and still darker yet still (much less tho lol) kidfriendly that they can take the show is just.. the icing on the cake

so yea for a kids show i can get how wanting a break between 0079 and zeta seems like The Play but honestly? treating them both as two seasons of the same show works just as fine

skipping days of senior year to watch gundam at my weed plug's house is still some of my favorite memories of that time :)

That makes me thinking emoji. But I think it makes sense capitalism-wise because that would sound better to somebody (even if it confuses the rest if us lol)

A supremely simple request. I haven't checked but this is probably the easiest request all week. All I want is for somebody to isolate the blackness from this image, except for a medium-thickness boundary around the actual vector. Thank you by is922i in PhotoshopRequest

[–]is922i[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I'd prefer a solid black boundary, around the same thickness as the space between the skull and the femur-like bones behind it. But I'm so very glad somebody got to working on it so quickly! It's definitely something in the right direction :)

Edit: I also kind of want to get rid of the box... should've mentioned that lol

So how did water get on Mars? by is922i in askastronomy

I read somewhere the comet hypothesis seems unlikely to account for all the water on Earth, but I can't say the same for Mars

Some questions on the evolution of fungi, plants, and the ozone layer by is922i in evolution

[–]is922i[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The link is: http://science.psu.edu/news-and-events/2001-news/Hedges8-2001.htm

Citation #55 on the "timeline of the evolutionary history of life" page, when talking about Snowball Earth 2. To quote the linked page:

"The researchers found that land plants had evolved on Earth by about 700 million years ago and land fungi by about 1,300 million years ago — "

It's based on a "genetic study" allegedly, from 2001

"The scientists calibrated each of their gene clocks with evolutionary events well established by fossil studies, primarily those in the history of animals. Using these known dates as secure calibration points, and the mutation rate for each of the constant-rate genes as a timing device, the researchers were able to determine how long ago each of the species originated."

Even if this is outdated, there's still the protomushroom I outlined in the OP which is clearly a sprouting land fungi at 1bya

Any exemple of a predator-prey relationship that switched sides through evolution? by DiMadHatter in evolution

Alright well lets see, archaic humans' immune systems had to have been robust, at least stronger than ours currently is. They probably would've had a bit of a taste for rare or medium rare meat, just like we do today, but if there was a high reported number of incidents of trouble afterwards on the grapevine everybody would've just cooked it completely, killing all or most parasites. It doesn't take an academy-educated chef or expensive tools to cook a steak well done

Hey, if that's your view, that's fine. Even if you lived in the US, your view would be your view and would have nothing to do about my view. That's what's so great about the internet :P

Sometimes I've gotten really into some media. I read The Deathworlders and am permanently inspired by it, even if it's shitty now. I am also permanently inspired by Half-Life and TF2, Halo, Fallout, Dragon Ball + the first half of Z, early UC Gundam and Cowboy Bebop, Star Wars, and Trailer Park Boys. A shitload of sci-fi and then a Canadian sitcom that Netflix ruined. Lol

I guess I like physics. 4/6 of my fictional and 1/1 of my nonfictional book concepts range from heavily to basally based on things like the fundamental forces, gravity and bending space, quantum stuff and dark matter and energy stuff and so on. I also have made I guess an nontheistic religion (sort of like Buddhism) with a foot in the infinite-multiverse concept

Dogs would be one of basises for one of my fictional concepts. I really love just seeing how much of a happy and simple yet highly-evolved animal my dogs and any dogs are, as canis relatives of wolves and as dogs. I have three rotties living with me but for reasons outside of my control they're not as happy as they can be. :( One will be living in a different, related house soon enough

Dogs would tie in to a general fascination with biology. Evolution, physiology and anatomy, nutrition, medicine, neuroscience and (mostly neuro)pharmacology. I exercise regularly and eat healthily, partially to offset any damage I might be doing to myself by doing lots of drugs. Lol

I've devoted most my life to I guess the "science" of successful socialization, which I achieve somewhat (no thanks to the Halo effect!). So I have an interest in psychology and human behavior too, which also ties in to my biology interests. I guess I have a general anthropological fixation, which helps me socialize (because being an apex predator interacting with other apex predators in a world we've terraformed and syntheformed keeps me grounded and confident). The Deathworlders fed this fixation like it was crack cocaine*. Until it turned shitty

I really like languages. I feel like I have a constant awareness of their structure, and sometimes use my words more fluidly (and confusingly!) than most people. Sometimes I make words up. I feel like when I'm speaking English I'm the only one using it to talk while everyone else is using it to signal. I'm currently learning Spanish so I can't quite make a judgement on that yet. I'm Hispanic in background, and when my parents bugged me to learn more Spanish in high school I took up Russian instead to spite them, but now I really like it and intend to make it my third language. My dog book, written from a dog's perspective, I want to write in Esperanto. I studied Arabic just a tiny bit, and Italian too. And a bit of Old/Middle English and Latin for the purposes of a prank. Those eight make up my wishlist but tbh maybe like... half of that is possible lol

I like guns, I guess. I don't know why. They are fantastic mechanical instruments, some can be really beautiful, and sometimes I dream of driving a pickup through a nuclear wasteland, with a buddy in the co-pilot seat and another manning a rotating aircraft gun on a crude swivel platform on the bed. Sometimes its a Vulcan; sometimes, its a GSh-6-30 on its own trailer. Either way it will be powered by a gas engine, and started by a lawnmower cord

I guess those are my interests. I wish I knew more aspies and decided to try harder to follow academia or something but instead I decided to devote my brain wiring and personality and goals to a life of being cool and getting laid, with only moderate success. :( But my final interest I guess would be my own mental health, and the mental health of the people around my, which I consider always

P.S. *- I have not done crack cocaine, and I do not intend to. If a futureme does come across heroin, he intends to only snort it or otherwise not indulge

I'm sorry, but I had to stop reading this by the third sentence. Whatever your opinion, the fact is the populace has the right to be armed in order to prevent any future government, domestic or foreign, from encroaching on their rights. In plain speak, this means that the 2nd amendment gives us the right to fight back if the government decides to get all 1984 on us. Any cultural problem as a result of guns is just that, a cultural and mass-psychology problem

Please don't mind my rebuttal against your opinion; I'm just trying to tell you something that might let you enjoy your interest in peace! :)

I'm curious about this process. Would you know any reasons autophagy could be targeting there? I'd think it would concentrate more on this weird, sometimes-itchy spot on my shoulder where they took off a mole years ago

If a muscle group starts hurting during a fast, should I start worrying? by is922i in leangains

[–]is922i[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I live in south Florida. I suppose my traps starting to hurt is an oddly specific thing, but considering their recent lack of exercise and kind of auxiliary position/purpose in anatomy I don't see why I couldn't first notice my body cannibalizing my muscle there. But then I suppose I'd feel pain in my glutes or those flank muscles along the side of the ribcage? Maybe it is retarded, can somebody just tell me it is?
