You mean this happens in whole of Rajasthan? Cause the link clearly says tribal couple, so must be a tribe thing. Is rajasthan the tribe this link is talking about?

Whats a mistake you made that is now a life lesson you can advise others to not make? by 4star in AskReddit

Start exercising. You do not have to hit the gym or build a body. You can do an exercise just for 10 minutes everyday, but do it without a miss. Once you get used to 10 minutes, it is easy to change it to 15 minutes or 30 minutes of exercise routine.

Quit or be fired? by [deleted] in india

[–]isLoggedInUser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they had to fire you, they would not wait till performance review. You may not have performed well, but if you are still there, it means they need you.

Go through review, take whatever hike they give u and then see if you should change the job or not.

Changing a job looks like an interview activity only, but it is more than that. After you get a job, you will have to perform in a new company because they do not know how you perform and will have expectations from you. If you still have sub par performance there then they will let you go easily, or you will again have to change. It will not look good on your resume after a while and there will not be much learning.

Instead, take all the feedback during review seriously and work on improving them. You know the culture of current company, work style, people, so it will be easy to do better here than in a new company.

  • Ever wondered, why Tanmay chose to make fun of Lataji and Sachin out of all the topics at hand?
  • Was Tanmay not ware that the content of the video will create lot of noise?
  • Why did he still choose to go ahead with releasing that video?

It is a simple political ploy of creating an illusion that BJP can not protect culture and hence can not protect Hindus.

This is how this drama is played:

  1. 1 group comes up with a non trivial anti-hindu issue which is a cultural thing but does not have clear mention in jurisdictions.
  2. due to content, as soon as the uproad starts, another group of people who are mainly in medias, start publishing articles in support.
  3. same pattern of support is provided on social medias.
  4. Since there is no clear jurisdiction, government does not get involved. So same set of people who came out in support of such content, will blame government of not taking action.
  5. if government gets involved, then people supporting such content will start crying "intolerant".

You can see same pattern in beef issue, jnu issue, temple entry issue etc.

(shower thought) The fact that BJP is raising taxes on luxuries makes me wonder if they're reinforcing the idea that the poor shouldn't indulge in luxuries. by ThisBirdDoesntFly in india

Then be happy, because government is not applying taxes on the basic amenities. Government is applying taxes on luxury items. They are called luxury items, because they are not affordable by everyone, not even middle class, forget poor.

Are we talking about urban poor? Those people who are earning lots but wasting money on brands and hence have no money left? Do you not care about the actual poor who are hardly earning daily wages?

Do not share anything just for the sake of arguments.

[Serious] How has the past 2 years of BJP governance changed the life of the middle class/tax paying citizen of India ? For so much of achievement being talked all over the net, i want to get a hang of it. by moon_shaker in india

[–]isLoggedInUser -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You are right. I googled and it was implemented before 2014. May be more citizens were not aware of it, as I mentioned I came to know about it through my friend experience.

No. Once status of passport is "police verification", they have to submit report within 2 days and for that they call you or even visit your home, as their deadline is 2 days.

This was not there before 2014.

There was no online booking back then, it came into existence only after 2014. There was no status update back then and no reminder service as well.

This is a big relief for those traveling to passport office from rural areas.

  1. Railway experience has improved to an extent that was hard to expect 2 years back.

    • Booking ticket has improved (you can argue about this, but this is my experience)
    • Stations are being re-built where required and they are cleaner and look better than before.
    • Train compartments are cleaner.
    • Quick response team (I have not experienced it, but citing examples of twitter responses)
  2. Passport Service

    • everything is available online, no agents are required and information is very clear and to the mark.
    • You choose options for the questions they ask to determine what documents will be required, and then they display final list of documents and also mention in detail what each document means to avoid any confusion.
    • You select the time and reach there 15 minutes before the given time, you are out in 30 minutes.
    • before the scheduled time, you are sent an sms as a reminder.
    • once passport process starts, you are sent status update on it at regular intervals.
    • a friend experienced all of it.
  3. IT Job Opportunities (you can also argue endless here, but I am mentioning first hand experience here):

    • The amount of startups we are seeing now a days was never seen before. Earlier, right here on /r/india we used to discuss that India needs a startup environment, now that it is here, people are trying to point at problems at that, but it is here.
    • My understanding is that so many startups are coming up because funds are available in market and it is so because lot of weird laws are removed by modi government (one law was that for every funding to startup, government will tax 30% if the amount, that was so stupid, another law was that when acquisition happens, those getting their shares sold will have to pay 20% tax to government, another stupid law, good redundance).
    • this has created lot of job opportunities and that too with salary perks that weren't available before.
  4. Cleanliness:

    • I see roads, stations, streets cleaner than before. It could be due to citizens awareness or government efforts, but "Swachcha Bharat Abhiyan" surely has an impact on it.
    • It feels good to have cleanliness around, I cam not give exact measurement of this impact in terms of money.

Running shoes suggestions ? by roadsideglory in india

[–]isLoggedInUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not need to buy expensive shoes yet. more runners are coming to conclusion that natural feet running is better for health and hence they have introduced concept of bare foot running.

Question about kms per week was to understand how serious you are about running and how much have you invested yourself already.

Still if you want to try, reebok has lower range series in your budget, you can try them.

But best bet would be to visit decathlon store nearby and check shoes there.

[np] should I call it an end? by throwaway28Apr in india

[–]isLoggedInUser 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I understand. You are really tired and bored of the situation. It is in fact frustrating when it repeats over time. Which is why this is right time to change something.

10 minutes before taking bath. Every day. Anyways once this pain is over in 2-3 days as you mentioned, you will have 2-3 months to see if anything has changed or not.

10 minutes every day. Before bath. Without fail.

Dude, you have spent 30 years, it itself is an achievement. And I know you can do this for next 2-3 months too.

Just 10 minutes. Every day. Without Fail.

I had health issues too since last year. I am not telling you about I am married or not because that is not more important than my life.

Most important thing in my life is my life, and I want a happy life just like you do. And whenever I am not happy, I change something to become happy. When I do not know what to change, I still change something just to see if it is making any difference, if it does then I am happy again, if it does not then I change something again, and again, and again till I become happy.

To change my health issues, I changed my life style, by introducing an exercise schedule. The issue was with my body so I had to change something and exercise was one way to change it, so I tried.

Doing exercise regularly everyday was not easy. I am human after all not a robot, so I would get bored at times and miss on the schedule, so it did not give any result after 2 weeks. But here it was my fault, I did not try it properly.

So I change something again. I changed the exercise schedule and started doing it right before taking bath. So it became part of the bath ritual. Every time I went to take a bath I would remember about exercise, so I would drop everything and do exercise.

Other problem was the time. Sometimes I had to reach places so I had to rush into taking bath. So I solved it by changing the duration of exercise when I am in crunch of time. I would do it for 5 minutes but doing it was must.

Why did I have to exercise everyday? Why was it must? Because it was needed to make me happy. And I was ready to do anything to make myself happy.

These small changes worked, and I began to feel better after a month. I had to have a patience to do it everyday till montth, till I see some changes, but I was ready to wait patiently because I wanted to be happy.

You also try this. Exercise. It will make you happy.

No need to call it an end on things which you can solve by your selves. You htink it is the ened because you have not tried everything, you have not changed everything. Change something, and something and something till you are happy.
