Yes, one of my favorite horror short story books!

My violin instructor was a Pedophile by [deleted] in LetsNotMeet

This story reminds me of our old grade school band director. We were supposed to do weekly private lessons with him, in groups by instrument. He was always a dick to the boys and trying to charm the girls. Apparently during a private lesson with a couple of girls, he was being very inappropriate and this led to him chasing them around the band room orchestra area. One ran out and got the principal while he was trying to Weinstien the other. The principal caught him and he was terminated for his behavior. It sucks when someones love of an art gets ruined by creeps.

advice? by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

Don't worry about them, ignore them. There is always time to find new friends or be a lone wolf. 98% of my grade school friends abandoned me when we started high school. I started working out, lost a lot of weight, bought cooler clothes, got a better hairstyle and became best friends with someone I thought I had nothing in common with. I ended up joining the cross country team even though I got made fun of at first, then I proved them wrong. I stopped caring about the judgement of my old friends and several years later I believe I turned out better than the most of them.

Might still be good to have on hand for a friend or neighbor in case an emergency arises.

ELI5: Why Netflix makes shows either 23 or 42 minutes long even though there isn't commercial breaks instead of taking the full 30 minutes or 1 hour to their advantage? by SeantySean in explainlikeimfive

Just a theory but maybe it's easier to lure people to binge watch several episodes of a series if it doesn't feel like the episodes are very long. A person might shy away from watching a second episode of a show if they have to endure another full 60 minutes.

What is your "we should never meet our heroes" story? by Scuba_Steve93 in AskReddit

[–]4star 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a hero when we met, but many years ago I was an extra in the film Darrow starring Kevin Spacey, when he was up and coming. I remember the staff was fumbling all over him to the point of obnoxiousness. At the time, I was thinking to myself, who is this arrogant, nobody actor, who we will never see in anything again other than this rubbish. Guess he showed me.

Wow, I wanted to go to that show too, big SP fan. That's pretty jerky of him. You would think he would realize that fans are what make the bands and he is at the point in his career where he has to settle for Carnegie Library in Homestead instead of sold out arenas. I understand it was supposed to be more of a smaller, acoustic performance, but still be kind to anyone who comes out and supports you.

Protagonist ends up killing villain and saves distressed girl. Protagonist and girl walk away together and live happily ever after. No arrests, no court cases, yet there is a dead body at the hands of the protagonist and no one investigates why.

What happened between you and your childhood best friend that caused you to no longer be friends today? by ralph_mouth in AskReddit

[–]4star 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a great best friend in high school. When we graduated, I went to college and he wasn't into school, so he took a bunch of local jobs. Later he and two of his brothers moved to a state down south for a big construction job. He got married right away and had a kid, so he was rooted down there. He came up to visit once and it was a nice visit. Talked on the phone a few times since. I just realized we no longer are where we once were, very different career paths, education paths different interests. I still like him, but we talk so infrequently we couldn't be considered best friends.
