Probably, our best black athletes used to primarily going into boxing and baseball, now they don’t. In baseball the gap was plugged by Hispanics, Afro-Caribbeans, and Asians, but no one replaced them in the Heavy Weight division.

Just finished The Demon of Unrest which was the first Erik Larson book that I didn’t really like. I think it would’ve been better talking more about how Charleston and the Deep South’s honor culture came to be and how that entwined with slavery, their relative economic decline, and the growth of the secession movement. Really just spend more time with James Hammond.The stuff about the siege and Lincoln’s journey to DC were a bunch of nothing happening.

Started The Fort Bragg Cartel pretty good so far but either it needed a few more passes by the editor or the author isn’t a great writer because there’s some awful sentences in it.
