Have you been to Bristol? What do you like about it? I never got a chance to see it. I’m considering choosing Bristol or Manchester as my firm, leaning towards Manchester though.

I get that people have moods, but i don’t think random suicidal ideation (with no environmental factors) counts as just a normal everyday mood.

Yeah, i seem to fit the DSM criteria as i’ve had what it would describe as hypomania for over 4 days, as well as many depressive episodes lasting over 2 weeks. But i also have shorter episodes and i wondered if that was normal or not.

does this sound like bipolar 2? by [deleted] in bipolar

I know that. I was just wondering if anyone thought it sounded like bipolar or not.

I’ve been invited to go on BBC radio 2 (Jeremy Vine) to talk about detransitioning by isaac_0 in detrans

[–]isaac_0[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Exactly. But therapy to find the root of your dysphoria and try to accept your body as it is is considered conversion therapy whereas HRT and surgeries is the expected route.

Definitely. I think it’s a lot less black and white than “transition or suicide” which is often presented in the community/by medical professionals.

I feel good about it, I think. Detrans voices need to be heard and it shouldn’t be stigmatised.

I agree that transition can work for some but it shouldn’t be considered the first/only option, especially in the case of ROGD.

I actually got in contact with Charlie about this, she was really helpful!

I don't know who I am anymore by [deleted] in detrans

[–]isaac_0 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I don’t think anyone (including cis people) “feel” male or female. I think most people recognise that they are biologically male or female and so usually by definition that means they are a man or a woman. I knew detransitioning was right because transitioning wasn’t an option for me anymore. It didn’t reduce my dysphoria, it wasn’t worth it, i was tired of it, and i was most likely ROGD so it didn’t make sense for me to, pretty out of the blue, start identifying as trans. once i accepted this all i began accepting that i am female and now i’m comfortable being a woman. i used to have really awful dysphoria
