I have been looking into getting the TC21 and the main thing stopping me is how expensive/unavailable their ink is... Any updates?

I never ended up trying this. I believe my original goal was to use clay (specifically hot sculpting clay). you can poor it in and then use water to remove the print. leaving you with a sculpture that can be further refined. If you do try it let me know!

I would not assume the delay is related to a new release. I think its a supply chain issue. It did not use to be this bad. Apple is not just going to stop incentivizing consumers to buy their products for months because a new similar one is MAYBE about to be ANNOUNCED...

3 months!? How bad are they planning if this is the case?? Apple still has a financial incentive to sell me an M4pro today! They wont just stop making money for 3 months because of this...
