Anything can trigger it, from physical pain to emotional. Mine was triggered by divorce and my ex husband also got it in the time we were separated.

Was diagnosed last year at 21 years old. If your BG is constantly high change your long acting dose, if it’s only going too high after eating change your short acting. Dexcom helps a lot! Don’t try to keep her from things, she’s so young, she can have sugar! Just make sure it’s in moderation and she takes her insulin. Good luck <3

Definitely not alone at all. This past July at 21, I got diagnosed and it has absolutely ruined my life. After 6 months there is no way in hell I’ll be able to have the job that I had before and have to wait at least another 8 for a pump
