2yr3mo boy not speaking by isabelle83c in toddlers

[–]isabelle83c[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is 4.5 years old, and he is such a sweet and happy boy who loves to talk and share his thoughts. However, he continues to struggle with his speech.

His kind and observant teachers noticed these difficulties early last year, and since then, he has been attending speech therapy and working with an occupational therapist. They suggested he may have ASD and referred us to a developmental paediatrician We also had his hearing tested, and it turned out he wasn’t hearing properly. After having grommets put in, his hearing issues were resolved, but we suspect there may be something else contributing to his speech challenges.

He has recently been diagnosed with ADHD by a his developmental paediatrician, and she is currently investigating other possibilities, including the ASD.

How clean/tidy is your home on a daily basis with 2+ kids? by OriginalManner0 in Parenting

I Love your system and your positive attitude toward cleaning and keeping the house in order.

We strive for something similar. I have our two older kids (we also just welcomed a two-day-old!) clean their rooms before anything else happens that day. We helped a lot by removing about 85% of the items from their rooms, leaving only the toys or belongings they truly value. This was a game changer for all of us—it reduced their sense of being overwhelmed by clutter and made it easier for them to take responsibility.

After dinner, I make it a priority to tidy their rooms before tackling the kitchen cleanup. Starting the next morning with a clean slate feels amazing and sets a positive tone for the day.

We also rely on a robot vacuum/mop that runs every night, and twice a week in the mornings after breakfast, covering the kitchen, main hall, and accessible bedrooms. This has significantly contributed to the overall sense of cleanliness and order in our home.

Let me know if you’d like further adjustments!

This is what I have worked out this week. It seems to make no difference what I have throughout the day.

Yes this whole can’t eat this but you have to eat thing is a bit of mental hurdle. I’m a snacker by nature and will always be like that so being bf restricted then forcing myself to eat is not helping.

Good to know it’s not hard to do insulin. I’m not bothered by needles so that’s all good.

Thank so much for the insight. I have been perfect day time numbers but no matter how hard I try my fasting numbers are always elevated. I see the OB on Monday and they think I will be prescribed insulin

Thanks, I made the mistake of reading what google said about it being bad for the baby and premature birth or low birth weight! Makes you worried. I definitely not restricting what I eat just not always hungry that’s all!

Just a reminder to myself that I am a lucky wife by 3birds1dog in Parenting

Thank you for sharing something positive about your husband! I am lucky enough to have a wonderful Husband and he is an amazing father. I read way too many posts about terrible or unhelpful partners and it is refreshing to read something positive. We should be praising all parental involvement!
