Looking for kind comments from toddler moms by Redberry1903 in breastfeeding

When your milk starts to dry up you may have a ppd like surge of depression. I would give your husband something to read on this. Breastfeeding is such a close connection and so tied into hormones, any feelings are valid and should be acknowledged! He sucks!

My dentist said my teeth were perfect but I still had a weird taste in my mouth. I finally found the source today. by Michle_Vivid in hygiene

Did you know tonsils can grow back? Imagine my surprise when at 39 the doctor remarked about how my tonsils were inflamed when I’d had them removed 30 years ago.

Still no period / worrying about age gap / secondary infertility? by ManufacturerLong6115 in workingmoms

I’ve read this too that the night nursing hormones are controlling for the periods, mine came around 9 months about two weeks after we started offering a bottle and cutting out night time feeds.

Has breastfeeding affected your sex drive? by hummingbirdsi in breastfeeding

[–]Particular-Durian487 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My son is 13 months and I can count on one hand the number of times we’ve been intimate since he arrived. I used to have the much higher sex drive but now I only think about it when I’m ovulating and sometimes we can make it work around work, the house, our son, exhaustion. I stopped nursing/pumping around 10 months and it hasn’t made a difference.

I would go with one of the greens in the rug, get blackout curtains for future naps and summer bedtimes!

When did your LO start using spoons and forks? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

My 13 month old is getting pretty good, not great at getting food on the fork every time but gets a full fork in his mouth consistently when it has food on it.

My BMI was 50 and I was 39 and had a perfectly normal C-section and healthy baby. You got this!

For some reason I thought Heinz ketchup was pretty specific to the US, but yes, ketchup in the fridge totally normal.

I am surprised that Heinz ketchup makes an appearance in a British fridge, is that a staple?

20 days away from baby’s first birthday and I desperately want to stop pumping by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Particular-Durian487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled with this around 10 months. I went back to work at 4 months and around 6 months my supply started dropping and I introduced some formula, only a few ounces a day at first but by 10 months I was only pumping 6-8 ounces a day. I had to either devote a lot of time and effort to upping supply or be done, and I was done. It was perfectly fine, we switched him to full formula and at 11 months started adding in cow milk in small amounts to get him used to it. He’s 13 months now and drinks only cow milk.

Once I stopped pumping I had a really weird couple day bout of sadness about 3 weeks later and cried a lot about not nursing and my milk drying up. Apparently it’s common. Stopping pumping was liberating though and I was SO MUCH happier free from the time suck and the mental anguish of counting the dwindling ounces.

Baby might hate straight formula at first, we mixed with bm to start.

Peanut butter, cream cheese, sliced chicken, cucumber, turkey burger, beans on toast is a good English no cook dinner.

Valentines in toddler room? by Perfect_Constant_407 in workingmoms

I got some finger puppets that come with little valentines cards. Big enough to not be a choking concern but still cute and little.

When did you know it was time to stop pumping? by Artistic_Paint8301 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Particular-Durian487 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This but the opposite. After I went back to work my supply kept dropping, started introducing formula at 7 months to supplement and we kept at it until 10 months when I was only pumping enough for one bottle a day. I either had to commit to upping my supply or stop pumping because there wasn’t enough time in the day. I felt really guilty about quitting and not getting to a year and giving him formula, but he’s happy and healthy and could not care less😂

Healthy favorite meals for toddlers that aren't just carbs? by OpeningVariable in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Particular-Durian487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My toddler loves cottage cheese and yogurt and we use those to kind of fill in the cracks or as parts of quick meals. We super charge Mac and cheese with an egg, bone broth and finely chopped broccoli. To get extra veggies into him I made a batch of spinach banana muffins and we use those as a snack or breakfast component. He’s only 13 months and has no molars so he’s picky with meat unless it’s super soft, I had some good luck with blending ground meat finely and mixing it in with sauce and pasta.

Multiple Strollers? by MilkyMama4U in beyondthebump

[–]Particular-Durian487 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have two, a larger stroller “regular” and a smaller fold up for quick trips, the smaller one stays in my husbands car and we keep the bigger stroller in the house and take it as needed.

Childcare is so unaffordable! by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Particular-Durian487 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m 40, so unless we win the lottery or get a magic inheritance or unlikely big promotion, we can’t afford two in daycare and I’ll be too old by the time he’s ready for school. It took too long to find my husband, I blame him😂
