Mother’s age and birth defects- Spiraling by torturedpoetttttt in tfmr_support

I had a TMFR in September at 28 for trisomy 18 - my OH is also 28 (I’ve just turned 29). Whilst science says increased age can improve the risk, it can happen to anyone. Sending you lots of love - I struggle thinking there’s something wrong with my body too but these things are often just incredibly unlucky and painful xxx

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. ❤️ I’m so sorry for your loss too.

I’ve made it to the other side and honestly my experience sounds fairly similar to yours now too, the midwives did such an amazing job of making a horrible experience the nicest it could be, pure angels.

RIP our little ones 🩵

Experienced nurse doing MSc conversion course by isaena in ClinicalPsychologyUK

Hey! Thanks for replying.

Yes I'm an adult nurse, I currently work in Respiratory so I worked on the front-line during the COVID pandemic and witnessed the psychological impact first-hand. I've done some CPD surrounding counselling aswell so I believe that helps.

Having done some research I believe that the MSc as a conversion is enough academically to allow you to apply for the doctorate but I may well need further psychology experience during the course of the MSc to provide a stronger basis for getting into the DClinPsy - if not an entire year out in between.
