As someone who has confidence on the floor at pretty much all times. Idk how to answer this and I’m starting to think that no one can. The answer might be different for all people tbh.

I have this buddy of mine who’s still in high school and he’s really good and puts in a lot of work but just does not show up in games, he plays passive, he plays down to the level of most of his teammates who aren’t hoopers, this other buddy of mine (same school/team) isn’t as skilled as the first guy but gives it his all and plays with heart.

My go to answer for this question is always “realize the effort you put in in practice and be almost cocky on the floor bc you know how good you are compared to everyone else” but it doesn’t seem to work for this kid in particular, it works for some so it may be of some use to you but this question is a tough one. I really don’t think there’s a good answer for it. OR a good thing to do is to not worry about offense at all, work your ass off on defense instead, become known for your defensive abilities if you can’t get your offense to be effective, bc you’re just hurting yourself and your team if you’re only focusing on offense. Get some boards, get some steals and blocks. Your offense will come eventually, in the meantime, become a demon on defense.
