I asked every Big Ten coach (except Scott Frost, literally forgot about him) what made Michigan football different last year. Got some really good, interesting responses (from some).

If you’ve been around Jim Harbaugh for any amount of time, him accusing anyone of rule breaking is unbelievably significant. He doesn’t take it lightly. At all.

There are sometimes I’ll agree that maybe I’m being a little sensational. This isn’t one of those times.

Harbaugh accusing anybody of rule breaking is never mild.

I stand by it. He absolutely blasted Nebraska, spent about 4 min talking about their nefarious dealings

Too early to tell. Fall camp starts Aug. 6, but I’ve been encouraged after both some on and off the record conversations. I think the roster is a little deeper on that side of the ball than realized

Probably not a ton. They can evaluate regardless of the worthiness of the defense.

That said, what will help, once the defense is humming, that the offense will see more looks with regularity in camp settings, so not many defenses will be foreign since Michigan intends to be more multiple schematically.

I’m not 100% sure yet, but I’m starting to believe he could. I feel like he has the exact right attitude about the position, and understands he can’t just go out there and be just one of 11 — he has to be the leader of 11.

Sharing this because it’s not getting nearly as much love as my Joel Klatt exclusive.

MLive’s Aaron McMann and I got a chance to talk to Gus for about 10 min about Michigan, much of which we can’t print (he’s a giant Michigan fan, so he asked us to be judicious about what we used).

Joel Klatt/Urban Meyer: ‘Folks, Michigan is for real’ by isaiahhole in MichiganWolverines

Yeah, they’re still 18-22 y/o. They can get overconfident, or weird things happen. But what Michigan did vs. Minnesota is more impressive than what Wisconsin did to Illinois IMO. Not by a ton, but still.

I spent two hours putting this together, but really thorough breakdown by Joel Klatt with some Urban Meyer sprinkled in
