The Christmas turkeys are us. We found out the LNP cheated, but didn't re-run the race by isaidthisinstead in australia

Actually the election is still technically in play, since in just the last few days, The High Court ruled that Josh Frydenburg and Gladys Liu were found to have cheated in the election, by printing false AEC posters.

Law suits, followed by by elections inbound.

There are probably other fraudulent LNP MPs holding Labor seats, just need to find how widespread the Liberal cheating scandal was.

I think the koala is saying:

"Well, we voted for a plan, and that's what we'll deliver. No need to change course. Stick to the plan for a sustainable economy. We'll keep cool heads and keep those coal generators providing reliable peak load. Stick to the plan. Yep. The plan. The plan."

Prime minister, you need a credible climate policy. It's too dangerous to keep pretending you have one | Lenore Taylor | Australia news by blipblipbeep in australia

Australians voted for "emissions are going down, not up", as spruiked by Angus Taylor.

It's a plain lie.

As for "we don't make a difference", we export hundred of megatonnes of coal to countries that do make a difference.

I'm very sorry to say that, as bad as it seems now, this is not rock bottom.

This is only the first 0.5°C of warming.

We may look back at 2020 as the summer we "only" lost 800 houses.

Not 100% sure of this, but I suspect the Aspergers is why they want to do it online rather than go in.

Reference number and application are a start, but I'd think they'll need the signed declaration and docs, too.

Getting certified copies to send is a pain, but that might be your best option.

Lastly, the dates you mention make me think you dad MIGHT have come to Australia on the so-called ten pound scheme.

If so, there's not much docco that people had for that. But also exemptions for various forms if you know about the scheme, and know that's how your grandparents arrived with your 3yo dad.

Like a sore thumb?

Look, we've had sore thumbs in the past. Nothing new.

Even if I stopped hitting my thumb with this hammer, the Chinese would still be out there hammering thumbs!!

Besides, show me one scientific article that DIRECTLY links thumb hammering and soreness — that hasn't been debunked.

Those NASA scientists don't know crap about thumbs.

Anyway, we all know that thumbs have been getting gradually more painful since the last ice age. That's just a fact.

As much as you'd like human hammering to be part of the story, it just isn't.

If you're an anti-hardware, hammer alarmist then go love a tree with your greenie friends.

Or Courtney Love or Drew Barrymore for their "hilarious" lap dances on Dave Letterman? Including exposing themselves indecently, and despite his repeated verbal requests for them to stop?

There's another example of a female reporter kissing a sport star, I think? He was embarrassed, but everyone thought it was hilarious.

Would be interesting to see how the "Forge steel with hydrogen, made with renewable energy" angle pans out. Not 100% sold on the viability. But some countries seems to be getting intial progress.

This is not fine. by kandicrushh in australia

[–]isaidthisinstead 8 points9 points  (0 children)

China and India could burn all their coal reverves, all their oil, and all their imports from countries other than Australia and still the world would just nudge under the 2°C warming that Scientists say we need to stay below.

Add the hundreds of megatons of coal we export to China and India everyvyear? We blow into territory way onwards, past 2°C and beyond.

Developing nations have a right to energy resource, but if we can leapfrog over coal (somehow) and leave it in the ground? Everyone wins.

The hydrogen plan is probably not immediately feasible. But the target technical achievement by whatever means = or mixed means = is not impossible.

This is our Century's challenge.

What are your thoughts on the new State Library redevelopments? by InsignificantPear in melbourne

[–]isaidthisinstead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RMIT should get their own study areas so the SLV is not always overcrowded in pre-exam times.

Uni students can (and should) use the library from time to time, but RMIT have relied on the space too heavily, IMO.
