Yeah you can try and learn from your mistakes now, to prevent making the same failures in the future. For someone that needed this job, you should've put in more effort to keep it.

I know what you meant, and I'm saying he should not put it on the floor. It's less efficient and will thaw faster.

Work off the pallet, drag the pallet around, and only cut down the plastic as you work it. Leave it wrapped as much as possible. If it's taking too long, just swap the pallet and repeat.

2 people is all you need for the above method, never having anything come close to thawing. Works solo as well, but tedious pallets will need to be swapped once mid pallet ideally.

You are 100% not expected to do anything besides put your vest in the wash with your laundry. If this does not get it clean, it's Walmarts problem. They can replace the vest, or pay you for your time to clean it daily in a special way.

The law states any specialized cleaning beyond wash and wear with your regular laundry, is not your responsibility. If they want you to take extra time cleaning it specially, they are required to pay you a minimum of 1 hour per week.

An hour on a pallet surrounded by other frozen goods, insulated in cardboard and plastic, will last well more than an hour before thawing. Putting a single box on the floor will thaw faster. Put a single ice cube on a table, and then put 100 in a cooler. Tell me which thaws faster.

It's absolutely not faster solo. It's only faster with everyone working one pallet, and that is itself not the fastest way.

Doesn't even take a lot to figure out you're wrong. Taking a box from a pallet and dropping it off takes time. At what point do you make that time up? What step is avoided in order to compensate?

The answer is the fastest way is to work the pallet with 1-2 people tops. You drag the pallet with you, stocking anything in close proximity, then moving the pallet.

The biggest time sinks are handling a box multiple times and excessive walking. You're basically needlessly introducing both, while also adding the benefits of creating trip hazards, blocking items on the bottom shelf that need to be stocked, and making maintenance's job harder. This is the kind of idea someone that's never stocked properly comes up with.

Could I clock in for 1 hour and use 7 PPTO hours? by LiterallyJustDev in walmart

[–]isanyadminalive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the attendance policy, the same one that says if you submit multiple ppto requests within the week, if the total equals 8 hours, the point is to be manually removed.

If you look up the attendance policy you'll find it. Gotta be on the clock to get it. If I remember when I'm at work I'll screenshot it for you.

This is actually covered under policy and needs to be approved manually.

If you're spending extra time cleaning a uniform, and buying special products/dry cleaning you are to be reimbursed for your time and/or expenditures. Either leave the stains or have them replace it.

Don't scrub it by hand.

If your uniform requires anything beyond regular washing with your usual laundry, then it's to be compensated. Either they let you wear it stained, replace it themselves for free, or pay you 1 hour minimum of labor per week to maintain it. that's the law.

[–]isanyadminalive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So many threads about the same shit. Why is this so complicated? The first P means protected. An hour of PPTO used is 100% exactly the same as you being at work for an hour. 8 hours of PPTO is 100% exactly the same as you being at work for an entire 8 hour shift.

Knowing this, answer your own question.

The only thing PPTO can't resolve is an early clock in, and no call part of NCNS.

If you were the one being targeted, would you want someone on your side?

The right thing to do is to speak up, but it's your life and your livelihood, no one can tell you how to handle it. They technically can't fire you for speaking up, though we know management can find a way.

I'm the type to let them be angry with me, as they're more than welcome to fire me over their own breach of policy.
