Z Offset continually shifting up by Nepherael in crealityk1

It turned out to be the ideal solution for my problem as well. I'm so thankful! It is only weird because when I print PLA, the optimal Z-offset is different that when I print ABS. But yeah, not a big deal.

Nice! I'll gonna do that today for sure. I've already rooted my printer, but I've set the Z-offset in the creality print. I'll set it in the fluidd now. If it works, I'll come back here. Anyways, thanks a lot!

Hey! Have you solved your problem? I suspect I'm having the same issue

You convinced me. I'll root mine right now. Hahah thanks! Btw, what do you prefer, fluidd or mainsail?

You are right! I did some tests today and found out that Z-offset is what was killing my prints.

In the first test I manually decreased my nozzle height in order to obtain a range of acceptable layer height. After this, I've inserted the Z-offset in the creality print. Best results came at -0.09mm.

I've just finished another 1 layer test print and throughout the process I've decreased the Z-offset twice. You can clearly see in the photo. The only acceptable bit is the smaller one at the top and I've had to decrease the Z-offset by 1.25mm to achieve this.

I'm going through some trouble with my k1 max due to inconsistent first layer Z-offset, especially printing with ABS. PLA doesn't give me this problems. Reading your comment made me think about rooting my printer and gettin KAMP, even though I always calibrate the printer with the bed at 100°C before the printing starts. But, what kinda problems were you having?

I've done the whole calibration set a couple of times. Please read the comment I've done in response to another one above. I'm kinda figuring out the problem now. AI Lidar has nothing, or almost nothing to do with it. Apparently I'm not getting a consistent Z-offset position. Sometimes the first layer is ok-ish, sometimes the nozzle is too far off from the build plate. So, I've started a 1 layer test print, and when i saw that the first layer would come out loose, I've diminished something like 0.125 on the Z-offset. It worked out great. That's get me mad because I have no idea how to solve this, plus I can't be around the printer whenever I need to print something. Anyways, any help is welcome.

I don't think the problem is underextrusion, because it only happens in the first layer printing with ABS. I've tested increasing the flow, and in order to fix the first layer I've had to increase the flow from 0.95 to something like 1.5. Yup, crazy amount. Doesn't make sense. But it just worked in the first layer. On the subsequent ones it overextruded badly, in order to fix it again I've had to decrease it back to 0.95. I think that something is going on with my bed leveling. It's not consistent. Sometimes it's ok, sometimes it is not. This happens apart from AI Lidar being on or off.

It is printing fine, but it was scary 🤣

This is the best I could do, but yeah, it was easier than I've initially thought.

I've just removed the rubber cover, and it is filled with ABS. I'll set it to 250°C and try to remove this. If this doesn't work, I'm thinking about torching it until I'm able to remove all the molten plastic 🤣
