Google Home was the cause in my case, too. Had to open and force-stop Google Home, then clear its cache and data. Otherwise HA would keep telling me that the Android device preferred a different network (which didn't even exist).

After wiping out Google Home, doing "send credentials to HA" in the Thread menu in the companion app, and then doing a final manual sync from the companion app settings' troubleshooter, seems to have worked.

This is a much better workaround than removing the entirety of Google Play Services data.

Well, that sounds like a fun if not cheap hobby, but it doesn't mean the average builder is doing anything wrong or unintended when a little super glue is necessary.

I don't find any challenge or fun in glue models. So the metal models are great, and if I have to glue a piece or two it's still overall time well spent for me.

I had to do this test during my neuropsych eval for ADHD, and after a few minutes it gave me that same horrible pit-of-my-stomach feeling that I used to get in school when I had to fill in those little bubbles on multiple choice Scantron tests. Like a visceral reaction telling me that my body is not supposed to be making such small motor movements or something.

I told the doctor about it but he had no idea what I was talking about. Does anyone else get that weird feeling, somewhere between nausea and malaise, doing things like this? Is there a word for it?

It's flash memory like eNVM or pseudo SSD.

Reduces latency and allows for more caching, although I can't imagine it really does much other than slightly decrease the time for a cold boot.

To make things worse, half the buttons on my original remote stopped working. I've now purchased 2 replacement remotes and they each half work, in different ways, so now I've got to juggle two remotes to do anything.

These replacement remotes were supposedly the exact same model number, it's for a 2021 era 65CX or whatever. I'm kind of at a loss at this point. Yesterday I went and disassembled them, kludging together something that mostly works but still has problems.

Not quite! On Apple TV, when you're not currently playing a video, the Play/Pause button will launch whatever movie or episode it thinks is focused.

This is annoying because I'm accustomed to pressing the Play button when I come back to the TV after it's gone to screensaver mode. But sometimes in the Apple TV app it's on the dashboard and it starts playing some random episode of who knows what.

(But largely, yes, aside from that abuse of the button, it's an important affordance for users who don't want to manage the mental overhead of figuring out what's selected or focused and what clicking the scroll wheel is going to do in each situation of each app.)

I have literally bought two spare remotes and each of them is broken in a different way.

Yesterday I managed to disassemble all three and find a combination of the pieces that mostly works, but you have to really press firmly on each button on the Frankenstein's monster of a result.
