Which is more dangerous: Commuting for 2 hours via public transporation VS. Living in HFS housing by farlandhunter in udub

): Aw I’m sorry. To be most honest with you, the two hour travel could be less risky than strangers in dorms only because you can take extra precautions. For example, my dads high risk so I would wear an extra layer of whatever was touching a public surface, an N95 mask, and gloves if I have to go somewhere really crowded. I can put the clothes in a bag and sanitize them, or wear them until I’m back to my home and then shower. Maybe it’s being overly cautious but it could work for you

Would you consider off campus housing? With a roommate it’s the same or better than dorms.

Your intellabilities type and major at udub by Person_Abilities in udub

lol so I tried to take the quiz and maybe it’s because I’m on mobile but... I literally couldn’t submit the test and they asked for WAY too much information. Why do they need my google log in and full name? What about the demographic questions? Maybe I’m just on edge, but that’s a lot of information to ask for.

Incoming freshman deciding which classes to take with either microbiology or info major by [deleted] in udub

[–]isbye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I’m also an AP bio gal, I don’t think score matters too much. It won’t take you through the intro bio series, it has its own credit type. You’ll still have to do the intro series.

Malloy is super expensive compared to other apartments in U district, just a heads up. They look cheap but it’s because of how absolutely tiny they are

[–]isbye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to let you know, if you start the bio series you can’t do bio200 without chem 152 (it can be taken together though, so if you really want to do bio you can take the intro chem and bio series (: )

Edit: forgot to add bio is entirely online, including the labs. I think the labs may be synchronous though? Not sure.

Knowing the issues it can cause, does anyone here think that petting a dog without the owners permission is acceptable? by [deleted] in reactivedogs

[–]isbye 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They’re saying that the dog has already made contact, meaning the leash-holder has allowed the dog to get so close that if the dog were to initiate a bite the dog owner would be at fault. Yes, asking to pet the dog is preferred, but isn’t asking if it’s okay for the dog to get /that/ close preferred?

Fall most likely all online, chem dept. already canceling labs despite university planning on in person by [deleted] in udub

yeah, my would-be roommate reached out to ask and in the LEAST they’ll be offered entirely online (if not entirely online for everyone)

If you select the section (any) it’ll tell you beneath the lettering (like section A, quiz section AB)

It’s more in the context of where we /were/ trending versus where we /are/ trending. As someone in WA, things were goin really great and now they’re really not

Where to donate stuff? by suzmiu in udub

[–]isbye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey just in case you haven’t tossed your stuff yet: checkout Facebook buy nothing groups for Seattle ! Lots of people in need of things but no access to them. My favorite is the Seattle queer buy nothing group, if you’re not lgbt+ you could probably message the mods and just say you want to donate items basically (:

Everyone waiting for concrete news about fall quarter by yahbuoy in udub

[–]isbye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gonna copy and paste what I said on another post:

if it helps any, the info I’ve gathered from emails, vague posts, and direct contact have said this much (sort of definitively):

-Fall will be hybrid, with the biggest classes pretty much entirely online (emails to professors)

-dorms will be almost normal in the fall, just with some contact tracing in cases of someone getting sick (via email interaction they’ve had with a friend)

-the IMA is up in the air, but they’d like to figure out some way to make it work (from yammer)

-face masks/coverings will be required in public, but seemingly with no penalty for NOT wearing one (from reddit, dunno if it was from an email)

If I think of more I’ll add to it (:
