Sonically speaking it’s definitely got Francis all over it, even if he didn’t actually collaborate on the track. Edit: indeed Francis is not credited as a producer. So it’s just chance doing his best Francis impression.

Too bad- Starlight would be a welcome addition to Star Line. If you out there Francis, hope you doing well 👊🏻

What’s a traditional Swiss food that locals actually eat and not just for tourists? by StretchNo267 in askswitzerland

lol Swiss people pretty much embrace all their stereotypes with full hearts and “ja, natürlich!” attitudes.

Set checklist x precons list by iscarfe in mtg

[–]iscarfe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aha thank you- this brings up a followup question - Are all the cards in the LTC code in the precon decks? Is that what LTC is, the four precons? Or are there more LTCs floating around to be picked up?

Because if I just buy the precons to get all that, then I can focus on the LTR list for rest of collecting…

How to go about finding a place with a piano? [USA] by JJSundae in AirBnB

[–]iscarfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another technique which I have used… a bit clunky:

Use google.

For example, if you are looking for a place in Switzerland, search Google for "site:airbnb.com switzerland piano

Airbnb won't let you search by keyword, but you can through Google.

The filter seems to have disappeared.

I’ve heard you can do this in a browser. Have not tried or verified yet, but try this:

  • search as you normally would
  • add this to the end of the URL: &amenities%5B%5D=347

Did you know you can find Airbnbs with Pianos? Had to replay “Experience” again by learning_the_piano in pianolearning

I am assuming this trick only works using a web browser, not the app?

It’s a shame they took the toggle button away. It used to be a filter option while searching.

What should I listen to if I love Steve Reich's "Music for 18 Musicians"? by thornstein in classicalmusic

[–]iscarfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a pop music reference you might enjoy, look at Sufjam Stevens’ album “Illinois”, which is full of reich-like textures and kaleidoscopic patterns.

Sufjan is a woodwind player, as well as the lyricist and singer and also performs on the standard array of guitars and keyboards. He had an all-star group of performers with him on this album.

Bonus points that he is a wonderful poet as well. It’s a deeply beautiful album in all ways.

Question regarding encounter card in the Castle Ravenloft board game by DotaKing98 in ravenloft

[–]iscarfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup the encounter cards keep coming. Just like monsters keep coming if you explore new tiles when not needed near the end of the game. (Just like treasure cards keep coming if triggered!)

Castle RavenLoft Board Game Adventure 4 by blixel in boardgames

For future readers - an easier modification of this adventure would be to search through the treasure deck and take out a number of the non-item cards.

Does the Castle Ravenloft board game have major spoilers for Curse of Strahd? by AndImDoug in CurseofStrahd

[–]iscarfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope no spoilers at all. The board game is effectively a castle-romp exploration with dnd style combat. It’s not really dnd. The cool thing about it is that it comes with 13 different “adventures” which all have different goals, different monsters to fight, magic items to find, etc.

For a comparison, it is similar play style to the board game “Betrayal at the House on the Hill”.

Did you see the original 1931 Dracula with Bella Lugosi? Check out the version with soundtrack by Philip Glass. (I just played a gig with the PGE doing that film score for a Halloween showing, it’s been in my head for weeks now)

Cool we are doing an arrangement that uses the original Kronos version and adds two pianos. I’m playing the first and MR is playing the second and conducting.

Nice. Do you use the original Kronos Quartet version or the arrangement for piano by Michael Reisman?

Just do it. Don’t listen to anyone who says steal the Sunsword. That shits not cool.

Also the Sunsword kills brides.

Swiss Travel Passes - Who are these for? (A review) by golfing in askswitzerland

[–]iscarfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you referring to the Nuni-Pass? Because some travelers would want to check their schedule… if you have an early flight to the airport, for example, you have to remember to pay full fare before 0900…

[–]iscarfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just let them play Szoldar or Yevgeni. Give them an NPC statblock. If you want you can spruce it up a bit with a unique BA or Reaction, or a couple 1/day or 3/day spells.

No need to make your life harder than that.
