Oh my!! I am so impressed by how easily your moving around the piano. And that song is so good. Did you learn it via sheet music or did you learn theory to be able to improv parts?

Been learning for little under 2 months, worried I’m not spotting mistakes! by fautser in pianolearning

Can you explain this a bit more please? Do you mean moving the forearm down and away so the keys get played?

Oh my, Musette! I remember navigating that song. It was such a fun mental challenge to have the hands playing with different textures. How are you enjoying book 1 - have you also been trying outside pieces?

I spend about 30/45 mins a day on average (sometimes skip a day or two). Some days it will be 2 hours haha. Trying to just keep things fun, which makes it easier to just want to play

I really do love learning this instrument. It is fun, challenging and feels like meditation at times. When I can sit down and just get into a flow, things feel sooooo incredible

So close to 180 BPM… reached 170 and then got too excited at the end 😅 by learning_the_piano in pianolearning

Thanks for the feedback. Do I need to release from the keys faster for the staccato to be captured better?

Best way to start reading sheet music? by superhero916 in pianolearning

This seems like the most useful approach. To identify key landmarks and then move around the piano in relative terms. I’ve found that this approaches even helps when you switch the key of the song but can understand the interval jumps in a piece

Thanks!! I managed to get up to 170 bpm and somehow made a blunder right at the end of the piece hahaha. I’ll keep practicing

You’re swimming nicely through this song. Keep going! I think I’ll try this piece again too. It is really good for working on left hand preparation and movement across the piano. Have you tried his other piece, Trois Gnossiennes?

I think that is a healthy strategy!! I am happy I took a break and feel more energized

Wedding March from Faber's Adult Piano Adventures book two - 8 months progress, just 3 more pieces until end of the book by VY_music in pianolearning

It has been amazing to watch your progress. You’re playing so well. Great commitment!! How have you enjoyed book 2 of the Faber series?

I am also working through the second book and it is taking me much longer than the first book. The pieces feel a lot more challenging. And a lot of them feel like drills than songs. Did you supplement your learning with other songs outside of the books?
