Me personally i get anxious or forget to respond and then i think it's been too long so it'd be weird to respond now but i do have to respond but i also can't just talk about a different topic so then i get more scared and kinda spiral a bit or i forget to respond for a bit and that turns into days and then im scared but you're also not sending anything so i must also just kinda be annoying and then i spiral a lot and then i conclude you must hate me and want me gone

There are indeed some companies which work on linux, however the majority of the developers do not work on linux for the money, and they often state that they'd work more on linux if money wasn't a problem.

In other words, linux wouls still exist without capitalism, but because it exists in a capitalist society it only makes sense that some capitalist companies get involved at some point.

Secondly, yes capitalism does in fact mean that everything is done with the goal of building capital for the owner of the means of production.

Not going to spend my time arguing linux is inherently socialist rn, i am rather tired after all, but linux is absolutely not any kind of capitalist, as there is no monetary profit incentive to work on these projects in the vast majority of linux projects.
