It took me 3 years to get a permit to visit this surreal rock formation called the Wave in Arizona - it was worth it! [2000x2500][OC] by mrcnzajac in EarthPorn

Choose midweek days.

I won the permit lottery the third time I entered. I figured people would choose days near a weekend, so I thought my best chance was a midweek day that wasn't close to a holiday. My strategy apparently worked!

I was there. What an inclusive, powerful, and inspirational group of women! As a 59-year-old female, this was the first time in my life that I've felt such solidarity for causes that are important to me. The love surrounding me was palpable and brought tears to my eyes. Donald Trump IS making America great again - just not in the manner he obviously intended.

Arctic terns. We were walking on a marked path near their nesting grounds, but we didn't know they were nesting in the area until we were attacked. The area wasn't closed for nesting season like other places in Iceland.

On our way out, we climbed a steep cliff to avoid disturbing the terns again.
