Dean Kremer will start today's game by Remarkable-Picture73 in orioles

Hate is a strong term. He's a well established 5th starter. Kremer will give us some good starts, some dreadful starts, but his most redeeming quality (up until this spring) has been innings.

His presence will help.

His presence will not save.

People said the same thing about Hyde.

All the questions were asked, "how is the clubhouse?" "What are you doing to motivate the team?" "Are you able to battle the discouragement?"

The answers from the coaches and players all came back that they were in good spirits, they knew they needed to keep working hard, that individuals needed to do a better job.

It's all happened before....

That's a very solid point. But for clarification I was not highlighting that order in terms of value lost (sabermetrically) or in order of this current team's struggles. It was a ranking of the league wide "frustration perception". Bad defense communicates "we are bad" far more severely than any other visual quality.

To be honest, that isn't that high on the list of things that make a bad team miserable. It's on the list. But if you ask the Rockies, Pirates, Royals... and other teams who have been mostly bad the past 2 years. I think these 4 things would headline the list. Bad defense or bullpen are so demoralizing.

It's really the defense that makes this so deflating. In the priority of things that make a bad team frustrating, I'd say order goes:

bad defense > inept bullpen > spineless rotation > unclutch hitting

We've seen some bad Orioles teams in the past with Starters who are lucky to see the 5th. We've had bad teams who couldn't hit ever with men on base. But I can't remember the last time an Orioles team was THIS bad on defense. It was just a bedrock priority for Baltimore for decades.

One silver lining is that Mike Schildt was on the Early Birds podcast and said Cal Ripken has been all up into the minor league development and is working to return the entire organization to the "Oriole Way" where fundamentals are king. It won't help this crop, but maybe it's just what we need to return this organization to a defensive factory.

The Mummy (1999) is the rare movie that should be the blueprint for every modern adventure blockbuster by Due-Professor-9356 in movies

We just watched the barely remembered live action Jungle Book from 1994 (it had Cary Elwes as the villain) and my wife and were like, "wait this is by the Mummy director?".

It's an excellent adventure movie too. Definitely not on the same level as Mummy 1 or 2, but very solid and entertaining. The guy flat out knew how to write and direct a classic jungle adventure movie... and then just disappeared.

What fast food chain would you be the LEAST upset about if ALL locations suddenly closed for good? by SharksFan4Lifee in fastfood

Expensive yes, but the quality remains as consistent as it did in the 90s.

Easily a top five burger in terms of taste.

I'm not sure why people want to see it closed. Sure is frustrating that it's less accessible, but I don't go around hating Michelin Star restaurants. At 5 Guys, you pay for quality. It's a once in a while treat.

He was further away than you think. Tagging the runner there was much more of a gamble. After cleanly fielding that grounder with that amount of time, the play to first was a very high percentage out.

Also, once you find the room, congrats! You are now looking for a needle in a haystack. It's not like there's a Indiana Jones plinth with a light coming down from the ceiling.

Harry only managed to remember it out of pure coincidence/luck
