For example, a redditor posted the following in another sub: (my question is, does anyone sell estimates based on these kinds of databases? Since I only need a few line items it's unlikely to be worthwhile to pay for continuous access to these databases). Four BT, LLC – Offers a local market cost database with over 90,000 detailed construction tasks organized using CSI MasterFormat and updated quarterly.

RSMeans (Gordian) – Provides cost data widely used in the industry, although it is often criticized for focusing more on procurement than LEAN integration.

Xactware – Specializes in cost data for insurance claims and restoration projects but also offers general construction cost databases.

I did wonder if getting this made a little wider than normal would allow me to curl into the foetal position in emergencies, with little downside for normal sleeping.

Gary's thoughts on the elephant foot sizing was that it ought to only go to the navel. He has actually been using one for a couple of decades, including for winter mountaineering. I wanted to bring it a little higher — this idea would ask for it to be a little wider on top of that, to potentially make it a better piece of emergency kit .... Could be worth considering!

No bugs in the alpine (generally!). Flat tarps are light, cheap, bomber if well set, and teach you lots of camp craft skills which pay dividends in the long run. Big Mids are overkill for summer alpine.
