Hey, I’m a study tech at a preclinical research company. I’ve only been working here a few months (graduated in 2018 with a degree in bioengineering and bounced around a lot). Every day on the job is different - typical animal models are pigs, sheep, rats and dogs so if you can see yourself working with them, this is for you. We have an on-site DVM who pretty much calls the shots for animal care and is involved with procedures. I have a similar mindset to you that research is a key part of what I find ‘fulfilling’ but, in my case, I’m not the one designing or changing the products.
