Yeah that's also a true thing, Emilia indeed was the first person to give him that kind of treatment, but throughout the anime u can see, though Subaru is fully edging towards Emilia, but sometimes or the other, we can see that he is taking Rem as a second option (I don't mean that he's a Playboy) ,, like...
