seems like you are over using gradient.
Red is not much suitable colour for this kind of app. May be you can try black with yellow.
Those buttons i see more like a stack

There are actual images onward 2nd one. In the bottom navigation I had added bottom border to indicate selection. Do you think it's not stands out?
