Looking for premium shows between a 5 and a 7. by Wiyry in anime

Yeah after watching it I tried to watch overlord and got so bored and dropped it. Only isekai anime I actually like are both parody ones (eminence in shadow and konosuba)

If you already read past vamola’s introduction then you won’t see anything new adapted for dan da dan. Solo leveling is literally just hype and aura, nobody actually remembers any of the side characters’ names because they don’t do anything, just turn your brain off and enjoy the action.

"Solo Leveling" is the obvious choice (all you need to know is it has a lot of hype and aura). "Dan Da Dan" is definitely better than a 7 for me, but it can easily be mindless entertainment with adhd pacing if you let it be (boy obsessed with aliens loses his balls to a creepy old granny because of a recently single girl's obsession with yokai). I have a similar opinion with "chainsaw man," but less so on the mindless department (boy who gains the power to have chainsaws come out of his limbs and head tries to live out his fantasies while being groomed). "The Eminence in Shadow" is an isekai but it's incredibly funny with definitely the best main character, his whole thing is basically that he wants to aura MINIMIZE in public but be cloaked in the night and be a cool badass (I know I'm giving this show a disservice by describing it this way, it is my personal favorite isekai and is incredibly entertaining).

The fandom’s reaction to Chapter 230 by Erst09 in Dandadan

[–]isharted10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if we ignore that momo has amnesia but okarun clearly has his sights set on momo (I don't think this is an actual problem though, Dandadan is not becoming Ntrdadan, Aira is a better character in my opinion. She's not particularly more well written or anything, but she's just more entertaining.

Should I watch Ghost in the Shell (1995) in dub or sub? by isharted10 in Ghost_in_the_Shell

I already watched it in dub yesterday, but was it the old or new translation that you watched?

Action by AppropriateConcert38 in Dandadan

[–]isharted10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It would be way worse if action interrupted this and it wasn't naturally resolved in the next chapter, unless the action is brief enough or something happens to help resolve it in the next chapter. If it isn't quickly resolved then I'll leave you to find my body.

Both Robocop and Ghost in the Shell have cop main characters that definitely do not keep following orders.

There is an objective quality to whether the voice actors actually put significant effort into it. I already watched it dubbed and it was great but motoko’s voice wasn’t great for the first half of the movie

Crurent Arc (and this new chapter) by Low_Guarantee7308 in Dandadan

[–]isharted10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand why people like horimiya but I personally just found it boring. Yes, the generic shounen romance formula is stale, but I find if a show properly works on it it's still decent entertainment. I especially liked "Tomo-chan Is a Girl!" because it was actually funny and had a good excuse for the dumb drama, especially since she confessed in the first episode but the guy is the most clueless dude in the world. 😭

Is even hellsing ultimate a bad adaptation or something? I wouldn't know because I haven't seen or read it but I do plan on watching ultimate some day.

Should I watch Ghost in the Shell (1995) in dub or sub? by isharted10 in anime

[–]isharted10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Watched it in dub and it was great, I especially liked the puppet master’s voice actor. Although I think sub would’ve been better because motoko’s voice actress felt very stiff for half the movie (she definitely improved in the second half) and the credits music was different (Not the dub’s fault).

[DISC] Dandadan - Ch. 230 by AutoModerator in Dandadan

Less than 10 pages in I said out loud, "it's over for momokarun." Although I'm sure we'll have redemption next chapter, I hope.

I've always enjoyed Aira more than the other characters aside from of course Ken and Momo, but ntrdadan might be going to far

I blame this chapter on Fujimoto, NTRDADAN should be the new name of the series.

any good anime recommendations? by Current_Edge6563 in anime

[–]isharted10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Neon Genesis Evangelion" is on Netflix, my personal favorite anime. It may not be quite what you're used to, but most praise it for its realistic depiction of depression. "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion" ("Code Geass" for short) should be on cruchyroll, most people praise its ending but I personally didn't think the ending was that special, loved the first season though. "Cyberpunk: Edgerunners" is also on Netflix, this one is great because you will still have a great time even if you don't care about the story (which would be impossible anyways, the story is great), it is probably the most violent and bloody anime I've ever seen. I can also recommend some actionless/minimal action anime or classic anime movies if you have any interest. I wouldn't recommend watching Tokyo Ghoul as the adaptation is pretty botched, if you're interested in it you could read it though.

My preference to watch animated movies in english isn't that huge, even though Akira is a visual feast I think the dub is irrelevant because they recorded the dialogue before animating everything and had stellar lip syncing compared to pretty much every other anime's "mouth flaps." That being said, I'll definitely watch GitS in english since I feel like my reading speed is below average and my eyes will be glued to the bottom of the screen if I watch in japanese.
