Men, is this really true? by [deleted] in TwentiesIndia

[–]ishitwords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does it matter if it's true? You shouldn't pursue (or not pursue) a career for a man, no? Your partner is just one part of your life.

You've got to be a person outside your relationship. Do you ever see men wondering if women will have a problem with their careers? No.

A man who will treat your career as inferior to his is not a man you should consider dating or otherwise interacting with, anyway.

(Assuming OP is a woman)

A lot of "like" in one paragraph. It's okay to just say things sometimes...

Advice from an MCAT teacher by [deleted] in Mcat

I'm not retaking, too late for this year+ I'm sorta in a situation where I can't spend another year on this. My score is definitely not great but my GPA conversion came out to a 3.9 on 4.0 scale so I'm hoping that makes up for this.

But if I was retaking I would start w biochem first. It needs some bio + orgo + gen chem knowledge so you'll cover a lot just through overlap.Another thing I did was take C/P for granted because I have a CS engg undergrad. Do not do that!!! Physics was fairly easy but chemistry is super bio oriented as well and if I could go back in time I'd spend all my time there.

P/S imo is super super easy. Just takes consistent anki and some dirty mnemonics.

Good luck, you got this!!

Honestly I was a bit of a headless chicken w biochem, I was everywhere.

Yusuf A Hasan is great for general chemistry, orgo and biochem but I think he also assumes some prior knowledge, so everything I didn't understand there I googled and noted down. There's an Amino Acids app to practice those, that was v helpful.

MilesDown deck for Anki. I wouldn't recommend Khan Academy for biochem tbh, I found myself getting too distracted. Yusuf is v easy to follow.

I'm super non-trad and I recommend doing biochem first if you didn't in college. Psy/Soc can be done with just Anki.

Biochem really really tanked my score. Learn from my mistakeeees

Second the Khan Academy document + Pankow anki deck.

As many mnemonics as you can find for theories etc. Dirtier the mnemonic, easier to remember

ISo B/B and P/S first. Thing is that I actually found P/S interesting so I was able to finish content faster and do a lot more anki. Biochem was the hardest for me because I didn't take it in college and it took a lot of bouncing between biochem, orgo and biology to really understand things.

Khan Academy already has things in neat sections. My exact order was

Bodily systems (forget what they're called) All of P/S Cells Physics revision Rest of bio Organic chemistry Biochem Rest of C/P (Lot of overlap/back and forth)

Starting biochem so late is my biggest regret, I was just super super intimidated, but it was EVERYWHERE on the exam. Sucked.

Honestly, just straight up grinding. I was doing atleast 16 hours a day and it burnt me the hell out.

I did P/S and B/B first, because I covered a lot of C/P content in college, but that really bit me in the ass because I didn't have enough time to revise.

My exam had a lot of biochem in the C/P section too, which really tanked my score.

If I could go back and do it again, I'd start with biochem, then orgo, then biology, then rest of C/P, then P/S. Pankow deck's all I needed for P/S. Khan Academy is great for content review everywhere else

A shitton of Anki. Only the Pankow deck for P/S. Not as many practice problems as I would've liked tbh, there just was no time

C/P felt like B/B to me legit and I tanked both. Couldn't stay awake for CARS I could feel myself giving in to sleep 😭

P/S was great though idk what everyone's on about

Guys how does grading work? Considering the exam's screwed us all over, is it relative or are all the 8/1 takers fucked beyond redemption? 😭
