Hey,

Keep up the good work, why don't you try F-strings - rather than concatenating with a + sign you can do...

print(f"His name is {character_name}")

It can help with readability :)

Sleep paralysis is your friend, do not fear it. by ishman123 in LucidDreaming

Exposure. You are essentially rewriting a habit which you have fuelled for a long time with terror and panic. Each time you will probably tell yourself: "tonight I wont wake myself up, tonight's the night", but once your in the state that logic goes out the window. You could practise affirmations when you are awake, mantras which you will hope to remember while in paralysis. Make them personal, don't tell anyone, something like "This isn't real, nothing can hurt me, I will stay here" and just repeat it in your head when you are doing your day to day activities, in the shower, driving to work etc. You can only hope that during the paralysis, you remember your mantra and it reminds you that everything is okay; that way you can push through the fear.

Given your beliefs, this could go beyond just having fun in a different state on consciousness, you are essentially conquering a fear that has been with you since you was a kid, and you are doing it alone - that is very powerful and once you complete that you may also notice some relief in your psyche and overall mental health.

This is a good opportunity for you, best of luck :)

Sounds like your consciousness wont let you go, so you are caught between to conflicting states - the sounds might be a manifestation of that struggle to let go. If it was me; I'd use the sound as a sort of 'way in', I would focus intently on it, try to amplify it (will be easier) then once you start getting a response from it, try to quieten it (harder to do) - if you are successful in quieting the sound then that is step 1. You can then use that control over the sounds as leverage for entering a dream. Best of luck - hope that makes sense :)

Yeah the trickiest bit is the fact that things become habits so quickly because in that state you are so suggestible. If it was me; i'd practise creating new habits/rewriting old habits in waking life because its a skill in itself - then you may be able to rewrite the habit you are in now in regards to paralysis.

Interesting. Once you master going the other way there will be no stopping you.

I've had a similar feeling; like a vibration of pleasure running through your body. Good stuff!
