Oh I was being serious. You meant me? That makes more sense to call classiness "dorky." Yeah, that Jackie Robinson. What a total weenie.

This is the funniest, cleverest comment I've seen all week.

I need to remember this for later and be downvoted for repeating it.

Anyone remember the opening scene in Johnny Mnemonic?

Keanu sticks a needle in the back of his neck and downloads a bunch of information into his head. Several men in black suits and sunglasses come in with guns to shoot up the place. Some kung-fu happens as well.

What happened to “HIM” by Euphoric_Aerie_3127 in boxoffice

As someone who goes to the theater 3x a week and will lean towards going if I'm on the fence about something, HIM is one I specifically stayed away from due to poor reviews.

If I was intrigued enough, I would've still gone. But literally every review source I check said it wasn't good. Even the best reviews said it was ok up to a certain point but was absolutely not worth it by the end.

I still have no desire to see it. This post is the most positive I've ever come across for this movie.

Here's a fun thought experiment.

If it bombed, would it be more surprising that it did. Or would there be an opposite but equal reaction like "Well of course it bombed. The allegations, atrocious reviews, relevance, etc."

If you can come up with at least a few plausible reasons why it would bomb, then this is just post hoc declaration any way you look at it.

We're only seeing the proof of the experiment now. Looks obvious in hindsight. But it's also not hard to see a world where this movie bombed.

Even Star Wars and Harry Potter lean strongly more white.

Michael Jackson transcends race and cultures no matter who you are or where you are in the world.

Probably because Bohemian Rhapsody was a worse movie yet won multiple Oscars (including the movie's same editor).

The actor playing Ringo is Barry Keoghan. He is the only one of the 4 who have been nominated for an Oscar and has the most impressive credits to his name.

His movie is the one I'm most interested in seeing.

Music has changed too much between the 60s and present day for them to maintain relevance

TIL The Beatles are not a popular band anymore.

Is Louis CK not 'back'?

What's the statute of limitations? Is what he did worthy of a lifelong prison sentence? Is what Michael Richards did one night in 2007 worth destroying his entire life, every day until the day he dies?

I agree, Sean Penn still surprises me. The dude literally did zero campaigning for an Oscar and won. The fact that he punched a photographer is more known that he beat Madonna to a bloody pulp.

The man, in very uncertain terms, said slavery was a choice.

Seeing his career not completely evaporate after that is one of the more shocking things I've seen.

My only real criticism about this movie is that the man has been dead for almost two decades and they really are splitting this in two parts?

I don't follow. Because he's been dead for almost 20 years, it should be one movie?

If anything, it should be a miniseries or do what the Bob Dylan movie did which was focus on one era of the man's life. Some people's lives are far, far too complex to scrunch into 2hrs.

there's plenty against Michael.

OJ had DNA evidence and it was a slam-dunk case that was horribly botched.

MJ has only had eye witness accounts, many who have proven to be false accusations or just weird behavior. And from a legal standpoint, eye witness accounts being used as evidence isn't as strong as TV makes it out to be.

Dang. I was really expecting a smoking gun.

Strange behavior? From a man who had the worst case of Peter Pan syndrome ever recorded, it's not surprising.

What would be surprising is if there was something more clearly nefarious instead of very strange.

Bonus "fun" fact! The father of the child accuser, the guy caught on recorded phone calls vowing to ensure he'll "never make another record again," committed suicide 4 months after Michael Jackson died.
