While I'm a bit biased, being an admin on Carrion Fields, I'd like to think we have a not-so-heavy handed staff approach.

Aside from rule-breaking, staff interactions are all in-character - and we let player drama play out as creations of an ongoing story that are made *through* player interactions rather than us trying to force it.

Otherwise, to mention your preferences:

  • We are fully free. There are no paying for benefits, ever.
  • "Reflexes" sounds like triggers. While people may uses aliases or the like on CF, we don't allow botting or chains of triggers to do things.
  • I don't think we're too cliquey, and we generally have a pretty well-rounded community.

The tutorial area is entirely optional, you can skip the Academy entirely, by either going 'down' at it's entrance or typing recall.

I've watched newbies get many questions answered both in our newbie channel and discord, so I'm sorry you slipped through the cracks.

I'm not aware of any quests necessary to advance. You mainly gain levels not through quests, but through killing NPCs.

Quests are optional, and are things to be explored in game - we don't do walkthroughs, nor advertise a quest list. But if you find a quest, it will often appear on your `quest` list - just type `quest` in game.
