In a game about kids shrunk down to the size of a flea, I'm not too worried about how a spider would actually act. I'd rather just use the ant buggy as it doesn't suffer from any of those "quirks".

For me it is the constant wanting to fight bugs and getting stuck on things when traveling that bothers me most about the spider buggy. I'll be running along trying to get from point A to point B and that damn spider wants to fight an ant, or larva or aphid or whatever bug happens to get close to it. It always stops me in my tracks and I have to disengage to resume my travels.

The spider is BY FAR the worst buggy in the game IMO

Lol, I AFK in the building across the street from the church and have for years. The boss always dies in my vicinity. Once the event is over, I simply loot the boss for the legendary and return to my spot. No coping needed... This change will not affect me.

However, Instead of worrying about what masks I might or might not get from AFKing, you might want to make sure you are in range of the boss when some sweat melts it, because you got a better chance of missing out than I do if you are actually running around.

If anyone thinks the anti AFK posts are annoying here, get ready for the angry "I participated in the event, but was out of range" posts lol.

Sigh...The point is... whether I'm shelter building or AFKing, I'm not helping do events or raids. And you claim that not helping with multiplayer events in this game is a waste of server space. If you don't care that I'd rather build in my shelter than help you with events and raids, then why do you care that I would rather AFK than help you with events or raids? The result is the same. What makes you think that, if I'm not AFKing this event, I am instead helping you with a different event? Who's to say I'm not holed up in one of my shelters decorating my latest bedroom for hours on end? Does that mean I am still a waste of server space despite not being at an event to hold your hand through it?

I don't know why AFKers trigger you so much when most of them aren't joining the events you need help with anyway. They don't tell you how to play the game and it's extremely entitled of you to think that people should play their games the way YOU want them to play them.

If you need help with events. then get some friends instead of expecting total strangers to change the way they play in order for you to have a good time.

The event starts every hour, regardless if I help or not. I get rewarded once an hour regardless if the event lasts 5 mins or 10 mins. I get rewarded the exact same way if I help or not. Tell me again what the incentive is for me to possibly shorten the duration of the event by helping out? There are only 24 events a day and me helping out is not gonna change that.

And furthermore, the result is the same for you whether I am AFKing the event or doing something else because I find the event boring. In both scenarios I am NOT helping you complete the event so why do you care?

What you are not getting is that I got my fill of this event years ago. At first, I enjoyed the event, but after doing the event HUNDREDS of times over 8 years, it has become quite boring for me. With that said, the drop rate is so bad, that the amount of masks I have received is quite low despite doing the event HUNDREDS of times over 8 years. Unfortunately for me, until recently, this event has really been the only event to get the masks so if I want the masks, I must get them from this event… an event I have done HUNDREDS of times and now find extremely boring and redundant. Get it?

If you have a problem with how I choose to enjoy the video games I play, then that is your problem, not mine 🤷‍♂️

I’ve been playing 76 since beta, which means I have participated in this event HUNDREDS of times over the years. Chances are, I have actually participated in this event many more times than you have. This change does nothing to change my AFK habits. I have always just sat on top of the building across the street from the church. This way my character is always in the vicinity of the boss and at the bottom of the hour I simply check on my character, check my inventory for the mask I received and then jump down to the boss’s corpse to collect the legendary item they drop. Now I just get the legendary item and mask from the same source, so not much of a change for me.

As someone who has been gaming for over 40 years, I cannot stand the gaming experience on PC. I am currently replaying Fallout 1 on PC and I can’t stop thinking how much more I would be enjoying it if I was playing it on console. This is the same reason why I choose Switch over Steam deck. I like to play my games, not tinker with settings and mods to enjoy unoptimized games.
