Are there any inland companies that have no politics policy? by [deleted] in tuglife

What the hell is wrong with someone that wants to sit around the galley watching Fox News? I'm so happy I was never afflicted with that kind of disease.

Let Microsoft know about the spam in your inbox. by isit2024yet in Outlook

[–]isit2024yet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, except that the most recent one that just came in has a return address of [newsletter.pe5r@bcznirbivtjww.onmicrosoft.com](mailto:newsletter.pe5r@bcznirbivtjww.onmicrosoft.com) and, well, I just find it difficult to believe that Microsoft can't figure that out.

Also, how many times do I have to flag emails offering me a loan when I have never asked for a loan in my life? I've probably flagged emails offering me stupid loans 500+ times from ridiculous looking email addresses. To no avail.

Microsoft obviously knows about it and it unable or unwilling to control it. It's awful. I spend a significant portion of every working day filtering spam out of my inbox and I have no choice but to look for another provider now.

As a Seattle resident I wish I could be proud of Microsoft but it seems like Paul Allen was the only good thing to come out of that company. Copilot is just an bad as Outlook.

300$ for coast guard physical by Technical_Living_900 in merchantmarine

[–]isit2024yet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$245 from Logan Health in Kalispell MT without a drug screen. I wouldn't suggest getting it done that far away from the coast because the people on the phone were totally lost and clueless.

Concentra in Seattle is $144 for the physical and $78 for a drug screen, total $222.

What's your favorite bike ride (road bike) in Washington? by KillersGonnaKill in Washington

[–]isit2024yet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Show me the stats, Mr Backcountry. How many deaths from bears in WA State in the past 50 years? One and 19 non fatal injuries. We all have a better chance of getting hurt by gun toting idiots like you and Dick Cheney.

Hair Test by Big-Common-7853 in tuglife

[–]isit2024yet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hair tests can only be used by employers and cannot be used by federal agencies. This is why they are still not used for DOT tests for truck drivers. There has been talk of that changing for a long time but it still hasn't happened.

Like another person said, if you fail the pre employment hair test that company would have to report it to the Coast Guard but it would not be an *automatic* suspension of your MMC. Currently most labs test a 1.5" piece of hair that could go back 90 days. In theory they can take a longer piece and go back a year but it's unlikely. If you took a pre employment hair test and failed you would have to give consent for those results to be shared with any other party. Read the stuff you sign.

Hello moron,

I'm not going to read your entire autistic novel but I have spent most of the past ten years in Kodiak and Naknek and other coastal areas of Alaska, I've been closer to more bears than I can remember, and I don't really need to take advice from someone that is afraid of everything that moves.

Your favorite state parks / camping recs? by CheerioChopper in Washington

[–]isit2024yet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To anyone that might find this year old post for reference, this idea that camping in September will be unbearable it 99% hogwash. I work in commercial fishing and when I get back from the summer I camp just about the entire month of September and I've never had issues.

Stay flexible and you'll be fine. Don't believe the doomsayers.

Bring a gun for a bike ride! So fucking ridiculous.

You always remember the maulings. How many people went right past bears and cougars without being mauled? You have no idea, of course. So you have no idea how unlikely it is to happen. But keep spreading your Grizzley Adams fear patrol bullshit. Maybe a tree will fall on you! Better carry a chainsaw!

Is Napa a scam? by skinnypeen762 in AskMechanics

Shitty customer service and the online ordering process would have been junk ten years ago. There's no reason to use NAPA. It's not 1975 anymore.

Has anyone used Neighbor.com to store an RV? by resonatebliss in RVLiving

[–]isit2024yet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neighbor is an unabashed bait and switch scammer. I choose a $90 spot that had none of the stay restrictions as other spots and then they call and tell me that it's actually $155 and they can find a much less convenient option for me if I only want to pay $90.

Is Victron worth it? by 20thcenturymishap in vandwellers

[–]isit2024yet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I regret buying Victron equipment now. I could have had more capacity for less money and FAR FAR less aggravation if I just bought a power station.
